Try your local SPCA first. You can get dogs from there for $50-$70. They don't always have Chihuahuas, but it's always a good idea to check because they are in more need of a good home than ones that already have homes in your area and just need different ones.

Good luck!!

Good luck finding a free pure chihuahua. try a chipoo instead. I serched for a chihuahua for over a year. the cheapest i found was $400 never one for free. but i did happen appon a chipoo. shes wonderful. and she was free. many people havent found out that a chipoo is worth money so when there chihuahua gets with a poodle they chalk the pups up to loss and give them away. and a chipoo is just as good as a pure chihuahua. Mine is now 6 months old and is 2.5lbs. I do have to give her hair cuts offten but thats just my prefernce. Shes short haired but it just dont all grow at the same leanth. so i have it eavened up a bit. GOOD LUCK.

Check the shelters, also go to petfinder.com You can search on their in your area to see if anyone is looking to adopt one out. It will list dogs in the shelters and rescues. Watch ads in the local papers. Good luck. Hope you can find a Chihuahua. They are great dogs.

look for a rescue, or maybe become a foster parent for a rescue.
I gotmy baby girl from a rescue and she is the best thing that has come along. I named her Xena because she is a survivor and I wanted to give a tuff girl name!lol
You can register at most pounds, and when they get one in they will call you.

I'm telling you b4 you get one they are cute, mean, and hateful. My aunts have one one of my aunts have 3.They are so protective and they will bite.I would suggest that you look on the internet or get a paper for your local area and see if anyone is moving and want to give one away.Or go to your local spca.I think you only haf to pay for shots and have them dip.(not sure) but I do know it's not costly at all.

Have you considered adoption from a pet shelter or rescue shelter?. We did not get our dog {Bullmastiff} from a shelter, but considered this when we started looking for a dog. They are not free, but the cost is low, not to mention other benefits.
