Do my eyes deceive me? Is what I've studied and believed taking place before our eyes? Is this the time?

I read Hal Lindsley's book, "The Late Great Planet Earth" in 1979. I have been studying Biblical end times prophecies for the last 27 years. Am I really seeing the end times senerio unfolding today?

Indeed the last days began when Christ sat at the right hand of the Father. (Acts 1:9) In the meantime, all of creation has been groaning, waiting for His return. (Romans 8:22-23) We see things being fulfilled as the last days draw to a close.

As expected, Peter's prophecy is also fulfilled while we wait. "First of all you must understand this: In the last days mockers will come and, following their own desires, will ridicule us by saying, "What happened to his promise to return? Ever since our ancestors died, everything continues as it did from the beginning of creation." (II Peter 3:4)

But we have a hope, and Jesus told us to look for the signs of His coming, "Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, for your deliverance is near." (Luke 21:28)

"No one knows about the day or the hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the father. Be on guard. Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. It's like a man going away: He leaves his house in charge of his servants, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. So you must also keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back-whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, don't let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone."

The main point is to use the time God gave you on earth to prepare your soul for eternity.

If you die today, that will be the end of the world for you.

Although I am not a fan of Hal Lindsey, I do believe this is the end of times....in our generation. I have a read a credible version of what was really stated (not what the Vatican issued) in the Third Secret of Fatima and it states that we are in the End of Times. Of course I am sure people will have fits because I am contradicting what Rome says....so what. Time will prove what will really happen. But I would venture to say we'd better get ourselves together and with it spiritually. It's obvious from seeing people's attitudes on this yahoo website that we are in a real spiritual warfare. I have never seen such hatred for God.

Maybe. You still have a copy of Late Great.....? Interesting. I don't know if I do any more. But I had discounted all that was in there long ago because it never happened.

Only in this last year have I decided that I need to stop ignoring the end times scriptures and get a grip on them. I will certainly see if I still have that book but I think there are better more scholarly presentations of the same thing out there. We'll see....

Many generations have thought for one reason or another that the "end times" are here. Has gone on since the death of Jesus. I don't think anyone will know till the day arrives so why question it. It will come when it does and thats that.

A side note......I hear from many people especially christians talking about not being able to stop it such as someone else pointed out. Well in my belief if you are christian and you believe the end times senario why would you worry at all that your God has come. Makes very lil sense to me. The only thing I can imagine is that you fear your destiny.

The problem with Hal Lindsey is that he's been wrong too many times to be considered any type of prophet. A prophet has to be right 100% of the time, and ole Hal isn't.

This may seem like a strange question so please don't take it the wrong way, but are you unbalanced? I don't mean mentally really, I mean are you thinking too much about this one subject? That's not healthy. Yes we should be knowledgeable so when the "end times" come we are ready, but we do have lives to live hon, and God needs us to focus on what is at hand rather than what is to come. What is to come is His business, not yours.

Yes I believe we are the ones. But only God knows the time! So be busy getting everyone in while there is yet time. Like Noah loading up the boat before the door was closed and could not be opened. The time is short and Satan is working overtime so must we!
