I have been having stomach problemson for about 3 and a half weeks. I took a medication witch cleared it up for about 3-4 days. I have alos been going to the john and nothing but mucus comes out? Is this colon cancer? I know it is not a stomach virus. My stools are green and some times real dark. Theres no blood. The mucus is a green yellowish color. Sometimes I have to sit and wait about 5 mins to get a bowl movement going. Then it seems like I still have to go? Idk know if its IBS but im getting scared. Im not old.

I really don't think you should jump to conclusions, it doesn't have to be either a virus or cancer, there are a lot of other situations which you might not even heard of and are easily treatbale.)
well, that's what I think, but it doesn't really matter cause you've already seen the doctor, so I was just worried about you, what did the doctor say?

Are your stools hard, or do you have to strain to get them to come out?

This sounds alot like constipation to me, the 'mucus' is fluid escaping around trapped, hard or dry stool.

Try using epsom salts, and that should clear it up temporarily, also drink lots of water and get 25-35 grams of dietary fiber a day. If this home remedy dosn't work in about a week, you need to go see a doctor.

Also, if you have pain in your stomach, that could be from trapped gas that sometimes goes along with constipation, because gas is usually released with bowel movements.

Tenesmus is the constant feeling of the need to empty the bowel, accompanied by pain, cramping, and involuntary straining efforts.

It may be due to a case of food poisoning, see your doctor, dont take a laxative.
