Dont you think it would be better to look into it from a wider aspect, & in a more matured way, and then form conclusions, instead of just blindly going along with the media. One has to also consider the political issues involved, in a majority of things.

try a Muslim sight

see if it is totally one sided about suffering of children
(apparently Muslim children that lived in Israel are not as important as Muslim children that live in Lebanon or Palestine.

Here's a twist!
Why are Muslims so tunnel visioned as regards all Americans?
Do they not know that the average American on the street could care less about a people that seem bent on making everyone hate them?
The U.S. government does the same thing,(try to make everyone hate them including it's citizens) yet they hardly represent the average person.

Why are people so tunnel visioned about Americans? Just thought it was a fair question back at you.

I, for one, am not. I had class last semester with a guy from Saudi. We spent a lot of time talking and found some common ground, in spite of our differences.

Part of the problem, though, is that the media should be giving Americans a wider view of Muslims, their faith, and culture... instead, they take the easy, lazy story.

I don't know what you mean by "Americans". I'm an American and about the only thing I think about Muslims is that they've been deceived by a false prophet and need prayer so that they can come to Jesus and receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life in Christ.

And yes, I know that Muslims consider Jesus to have been a prophet of God. That means that they don't believe that He came down from Heaven and wrapped Himself in flesh. The Bible says that this is the teaching of the anti-Christ. An anti-Christ isn't someone who is opposed to Christ. It's someone who seeks to take the place of Jesus like the prophet of Islam has done.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this the Spirit of God is known: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit which does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard that it is coming, and now is already in the world.

Don't narrow your analysis so quickly. Americans are "tunnel visioned" or ignorant about most everything outside the borders of our nation ... and quite a bit inside too. And, while I do try to avoid this, I am including myself in my statement ... as I understand the signifance of the media (not just news, but regular programming and movies as well) in developing blindspots and am not immune.

Hahahahahaahaaa! What makes you think it is just Muslims that we are tunnel visioned about?...

in the USA, if the news from any other country does not affect our economics... then it does not even get reported to us...

oh.. wait.. yes it will.. if it is about some little kid or animal for some "cute" story... but only one or two per year.

What we don't understand strikes fear inside of us. Speaking as learned Christian I have seen a lack of understanding cause this emotion in an infinite amount of circumstances. For example, the majority of Christians either completely hate homosexuals or completely embrace them. This is because they either think homosexuals are way off their wagon, or they understand the type of discomfort homosexuals experience in society. I'm not going to bother with my stance due to the long answer I've posted.

I think Muslims are the same as everyone else. There are really religious ones, and not as religious ones. There are loud ones, quiet ones, fundamental ones, not as fundamental ones..etc. People are people. They all deserve a happy peaceful life.

I am American.

I don't watch the news. The news is skewed. I try to get multiple opinions. I have Muslim friends.

that's because we read the very papers that gives tunnel vision perspectives.

And muslims get their tunnel visioned perspectives of the west from their insular mullahs and media.

While we are debating on this- don't forget the bushs or bushes have a special relationship with the saudi royals

We all get influenced by the media. I find that my experiences with people who have actually experienced what is going on in the world leave a much more powerful impression on me. I had a friend from Iran and she told me incredible stories that gave me much respect for her and her people. As far as religion goes, there are extremists in all of them.

because God is loveing, he doesnt let people into heaven that kill them selves of kill others thats why jesus said "if you fight by the sword you die by the sword" which means if you use weapons, etc you will end up dieing by weapons
