Mmm... so yummy... I wish I knew! I think it's because it indicates the foreign and exotic.

...No, that can't be it. An Irish drawl will do me in ANY day-!! But look at that word--drawl. Different accents use different speeds, tones, vowels, etc. A drawl can't help but remind you of lazy, dreamy bedroom talk. An Aussie's kinda cocky--confidence is sexy. And an upperclass Brit reminds us of being whisked away by a nobleman. That's a much a cultural thing as the sounds.

For me personally, it signals that they're not American--a big plus in my books! ;)

I think it's because an accent is by nature exotic - and we all want a little variety, right?

I have a friend from Kansas who has to practically beat the girls off with a stick :)
