I know this guy from High School. But we barely said 5 sentences to each other then. He's the quiet, cool sort. So 6 years passed, and everybody moved on with their new lives.

Recently, we had a few gatherings and we started talking there and after that kept in touch on MSN and got to know each other slightly better. Then we realised our workplaces were near and met up a few times for lunch. I feel attracted to him in some ways I can't explain. Cos I ususally don't go for quiet guys, clashes with my character you see. But I can't help it.

The thing is, how do I know if he has interest in me too? I thought he 's interested in me by asking me out to lunch and suggesting dinner sometime. Yet, at times I feel he's giving me mixed signals. And I'm confused. So how do I know he feels the same way bout me? By asking me out for lunch and dinner, does it go to show that he's interested? Or is he merely being friendly? What else would a guy do if he's interested?

He's relatively quiet to me. But that's such a big improvement since High School. Cos at least we can hold a proper conversation now. But accordingly to one of my close friend who knows him well, he said this guy I fancy is actually not quiet. Only people who don't know him that well says that of him.

How should I let him know in a subtle way that I'm interested?

Well I'm sorry to see you in this situation... I just recently exited the exact situation... with a few exception in the detail. See this guy I was interested in SO very much was so shy that I'd even directly ask him, do you like me? And his quiet personality would never know what to say... I'm a pretty outgoing person so it clashes with me as well. It was almost a tease, the relationship that is, because I would say hey lets hang out and he'd be like okay maybe we'll see... he was always to scared to say Yes I'd love to, fear of the rejection or maybe i was joking? You see. In the end I was tired of trying to play a guessing game with him to figure out what he was thinking he never opened up... and odds are your guy wont either... So my advice is ask him directly if he wont tell you and avoid the question... move on he wont change and your outgoing personality will get tired of it... and then it will result in hurt because you still love his personality Like i did :) :-\ Hope I could help :)

oddss are if he's usually a quiet guy he's not going to ask you out to lunch or dinner unless he does acually like you. guys like that are hard to read because they are so shy they are afraid of being "not shy" if you will, he might think if he moves too fast you'll run away or perhaps he likes what you have now and doesn't want to ruin things. just show him your interested in him, ask him to do something different like mini golf or bowling and afterwards ask him if he'd like to stop in for a coffee or drink or something, if he says no thanks thats your sign, if he comes in then your golden. goodluck.
