Maybe the family tree you are looking at may be wrong. Cain and Able were the first 2.

Adam's family tree would be pretty darn short. Do you mean Noah's family tree. He was descended from Seth. Only one can be the ancestor. I don't know if Cain or Abel had any kids.

Adam and Eve had numerous "sons and daughters" but we only have the names of 3: Cain, Abel, and Seth.
Cain, the firstborn, had many descendents. These are listed in Genesis..
Adam was murdered without having children.
Seth, born after the Fall, also had many descendents. These are listed also in Genesis.
Then it gets tricky: almost 2,000 years after the Fall, came a BIG FLOOD.
According to Bible records, only 1 family survived that flood: Noah and his wife, and their 3 sons and their wives. 8 people.
Guess who Noah was descended from? Seth.
We don't know the geanologies of Noah's wife or daughters-in-law, but we have Noah's. Technically, only Seth's line survived the great Flood to repopulate the Earth.
Resulting in all of us. Black, brown, red, yellow, white, whatever.
Makes an interesting thought, doesn't it?

God gave Adam and Eve another son in place of Abel, since Cain killed him. (Gen. 4:25) Seth means chosen. God chose Seth to replace Abel.
In the Garden of Eden, God had promised One who would come into the world to defeat Satan and deliver the descendants of Adam from his power. That Savior could have come through the family line of Abel who believed God. However, Satan led Cain to kill Abel. Satan wanted to hinder God's plan to send the Savior into the world. However, God's wisdom is greater than Satan's. God had a marvelous plan to deliver the children of Adam from their sins and no one could hinder it, not even Satan! Therefore, God, in keeping with His plan, gave Seth to Adam and Eve, to replace Abel, whom Cain had killed. Thus, God's plan concerning the Redeemer continued to advance.

No.. he was cast out... which means that he was no longer part of the family...
and people who were adopted...were put into the family tree just like they were born there.
