You can buy a regular cake mix (dutch chocolate is good) and add some sour cream, about 3/4 cup, to it for a very moist and delicious cake :)

Our family has another version of the mayo cake it can be used with any cake mix in any flavor.
1 cake mix (pudding in the mix is the best)
1 cup milk
1 cup mayo
3 eggs
Beat eggs and mayo together until no lumps show add milk. Slowly beat in cake mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins or until pick comes out clean. Let cool.
We like to poke holes in cake while still warm and frost so frosting melts down into cake. Not a pretty but the most decedent cake you have ever eaten. Chocolate cake with a mixture of chocolate and cream cheese frosting. Use lots of frosting.
No one will ever guess you used a cake mix...so moist. Good Luck

make your cake with the normal ingredients but instead of adding shortening add mayonnaise, for real, we call it a mayonnaise cake instead of a chocolate cake. This has been our family for a long time. enjoy
