I am a 18 yr. old student in college trying to make my final decision on a career. My choices are dental hygiene or diagnostic medical sonography. Im not asking for someone to make my decision for me for all the rude people out there who love to leave harsh comments...I'm just asking for opinions on the jobs themselves.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound Tech) median pay scale is $57,124

Dental Hygienist median pay scale $71,627

IMPORTANT: Your pay can be dramatically affected by compensable factors such as employer size, industry, employee credentials, years of experience and others.

Just becoming educated in all the aspects of each position should help you make a good decision. You should talk to a few people who have been working in each position for a few years and ask what they like and do not like about it.

Good luck

Hillsborough community college has a dental hygienist application it particularly is extremely less expensive and places human beings in jobs. they actually have a radiology application. Their classes are authorities subsidized so the price is less than a private college. I recommend that you're taking a seat with a coaching counselor at HCC and communicate the classes and see what's actual for you. you're able to effect determining to change into an LPN (you'll always be waiting to get a job no undergo in options what the business gadget is like) or an optician. i do not imagine of you've sufficient information yet. There are better openings for dental hygienists than for ultrasound technicians

Personally, I would say ultrasound tech. The people you see will usually be happier than the ones at the dentist and you won't have to put your hands in people's mouth. (Ewww.)

Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck!!!

I myself would choose the ultrasound tech because I wouldn't want to spend everyday cleaning peoples teeth for them. In my opinion thats gross. But i would find enjoyment in seeing life inside of women.

Ultra sound. It's easier to make your own schedule and go to different offices.
