That depends on what you mean by "preaching". I believe you refer to the act of delivering a sermon.
In the Bible, everyone who is a Christian preached the Gospel. Everyone who is a Christian is to teach one another, in word or song. In the NT, there is no such thing as a sermon, nor is there anyone doing any sermonising or anyone being sermonised. Today many churches are sticky about who gets to preach the sermon, and whether women can do it. Back in the NT times when the church was meeting organically in house churches, spontaneous participation by everyone present was the norm. It ought to be the same today still. Unfortunately the traditions of man have overtaken the Scriptural teachings/examples in many churches today.

I think it's fine. God works through people, His children...... the ones who are obedient, so if God has work to be done He will use the vessel the is willing. Say he goes to a man to preach a particular word.... the man out of fear or whatever doesn't head the word of the Lord... God's work will still get done, He will move on to the next person.... and so on until someone obeys. So maybe that would be a woman. God uses anyone and anything. He spoke through a donkey for heaven's sake.

It is not for any one to say whether it's wrong or right. God calls whom God desires to call. As I've heard many times "God qualifies the call, God doesn't call the qaulified." It is also written that Jesus said "in the last days, I will pour out my Spirit on many sons and daughters". There are numerous times within the New Testament where Jesus revealed himself to women. Why? Because many of the men did not believe, there are even instances where his disciples did not understand some of Jesus' teaching. Even Martha got upset when Jesus and the disciples were visiting her and her sister Mary. Martha was preparing dinner and upset because Mary was in the other room sitting at the feet of Jesus being taught. Martha complained and Jesue told Martha basically chill out, Mary has chosen the better portion. This Mary, this Mary, is the 13th disciple that people speak of. Kings consulted prophetesses before they made war. The Book of Judges speak of Deborah. She was the Judge of the People one of those times the children where in bondage. God told her to go and get this warrior and have him lead his men in battle and he said he wasn't going unless Deborah went. Deborah picked up her horse and sword and said let's ride. Even then, the man the warrior was suppose to kill was killed by another woman. Therefore, women are in no way, when they realize that God has a calling on their life, women are in no way to take a back seat to any man. When God calls a woman she has the same charge as when a man is called by God. Some Male Preachers like to label women Evangelists or Prophetess instead of Rev. or Pastor. I was sitting at a table of Preachers and the host went to introduce me as Sister instead of Reverend and I had to correct him.
If you take a course in the History of Christianity, you will find that almost ALL churches where started by women in their homes. The truth is, some Male Preachers, don't want the women in their churches to know just how much power we have been given. I have a couple of cousins that are Pastors and I caution them not to turn away any female that steps to them and say they feel that God has called them to Preach. I wouldn't want to be those preachers that have to answer God's question "Why did you turn the person away that I called." Boy that's going to be a hard one to answer.
And women, some women in the church holler the loudest against a female Pastor/Preacher. Sister, read your bible. Women have been leading since and before the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Mary was the first to say "He has risen!" The fellas tuck tail and ran!

I'm torn in two on this one. I like to believe their is much wisdom in the teachings of the Apostle Paul. But I have seen Women Preachers who bear good fruit.
I Think that maybe God allows women to take the torch when a man out there missed God's will.

I'm not Christian, and that's one of my problems with religion. It's not right to discriminate on the basis of gender, race or sexual orientation. So if a woman wants to preach and be head of the Catholic church for example, then she should be allowed to aspire to do whatever she wants to do. What a poor example that shows to young women, that they're not as good as men, or they can't do what they want to do. Screw that.

I believe that God uses man and women alike. God is raising Godly women to preach to the nations. For example Paula White, Judy Jacobs, Joyce meyers, Juanita Bynum, Karen Wheaton, and Joni lamb. This are Godly women who are stopping the Devil left and right. The anointing is not measure by what your sex is. The anointing is on those who trully seek the God with all of the heart. God is raising the foolish things of this world to bring shame on those who are think they are wise.

I think in the "right" situations, men lead the Church, women can always speak in the church but it is not appropriate for them to head the church. However, just like men are supposed to head the household, it is not sinful for the woman to do it especially if the man isnt doing it himself. I believe the same for the Church, if the men arent stepping up to the plate, then the women should.

2 Timothy 2:11-14
Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

I think that God can use anybody to preach his word. God said in general to go out and preach his word to everyone. I think its ok for women to preach.
