There are a few books that can help you out. Plus the VA can help. I know that the Fleet and Family Support Center here in Norfolk has classes that help convert military speak to civilian. I know, I've got several scheduled.

at the top of the page click on "Careers"

Under that click on "Veteren Job Board"

Then to the left side of the page click on "Skills Translator"

there are people who can help us. first if you are the vet, call your local veteran office for your county, it should be with the county stuff in the book. they will make sure your dd214 is recorded with the county and set you up with the VA hospital. then when you go to unemployment make sure you are talking to the vet rep not just a unemployment person. there are programs out there for vets. talk to the guys at DAV (disabled American veterans) all these groups can help and send you to more places for vet help
