God says this about the Law: "Therefore I also gave them statutes that were not good, and judgments that they could not live by." (Ezekiel 20:25)
Paul tells us about the Law here: "Now before this faith came, we were held in custody and carefully guarded under the law in preparation for the faith that was to be revealed. And so the law was our tutor until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith. But now that this faith has come, we are no longer under the control of a tutor." (Galatians 3:23-25)
Therefore the Law teaches us what God requires, and that we cannot meet those requirements. It teaches us that we need someone who can fulfill the requirements for us. He is the Savior, Jesus Christ.

In the age of grace, we are not under any law. We all know right from wrong because of Adam. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 2: 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: The only thing the law is used for today is to show a lost person that they are a sinner and on their way to hell but after they believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for their sins then they are no longer under a school master. Galatians 3: 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Galatians 3: 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Romans 3: 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

If I would not be to lazy at this moment (11.44 pm) to get up I would search fo it in the Bible, so let me just sum it up.
The law is there to remind us that we are in need of a savior, because no man is justified by the law but by faith.
We can't be justified by the law because we cannot keep the law, because we are not perfect.
I believe the Bible says that the law was our schoolmaster, oh what the check.... let me go find it...
It is too much to write, just read Gal 2; 3; 4 and five

Old laws are obsolete so I only follow current laws. Too many people lost in the past. I don't quote the bible because it's a stupid thing to do. I only quote my opinion. You can read the bible yourself if you need that.

The only old law that should be followed is the law of Moses aka the Ten Commandments. The old law was broken with the new convenant and the crusifiction of Christ.

If you have done the "R&D" that you claim you have (and I'm not doubting you), then you can accept my answer without the citing you'd like since I'm not in a position at this late hour to get it for you, but surely you would recognize my paraphrase of Jesus' statement about people being in serious error if they think He came to get rid of the "Old Law". Rather, Jesus says, He came to fulfill the Old Law. I'm sure if you've done your "R&D", you'll recognize that paraphrase readily. God Bless you.
