I don't believe that "heaven" is heaven unless you can know what the people you love are doing. I want to think my Dad and other relatives can see important family events from where they are...

Sean P - my Dad used to sing to me, "Hey There, You with the Stars in Your Eyes" (from the Pajama Game) and I have blue STAR ornaments on my tree to remember him - - - the star thing startled me - in a good way! : )

I believe that when someone dies and goes to heaven that they no longer know whats happening here on earth the bible describes heaven as a place where there will be no more sorrow and I think that if you were able to look down on family and friends or even just the every day life anymore and saw that things were not going the way they need to be then that would cause you to be sorrowful and as the bible says that is just not possible

Yes of course people who have died can know and even interact with what goes on here. There are many documented cases. A good place to get real case stories are books on near-death experiences.
It would not make the dead people sad to see what goes on here because they have not gone anywhere, they are just seeing life as it really is -- without all the hell on earth.

Nope, we'd all like to think that but honestly. When it's lights out, it's lights out. Have you ever been operated on and had to be "knocked out". That's kinda what death is like. No dreams, no nothing.. game over.
All this other stuff was made up so we would be such cowards to face death. Some American cults even believe that there are "pearly gates with saints and angels with wings".... hogwash.

The Bible tells us there are no tears and sorrow in heaven. I don't see how people in heaven could look down on Earth and not have sorrow. I don't think people who have gone before us watch over us. God gives us angels to watch over us and protect us. These angels are separate beings. People don't become angels when they die. I believe when we are in heaven we will have all we need - God in all his glory.

Yes I do believe that. My parents look down from heaven to see what I am doing, if I am ok...and I know they miss me as I do them.

When we go to sleep at night, this is death.
They are sleep until Jesus come. They are at rest. In Matt. when the little girl dies's, Jesus said she is not dead but asleep.
People tell us that our family and friends are looking down on us to help us began our healing process of losing someone we love.

I'm not sure if they can "see" specific things or events but I'm positive they are aware of our lives and what we are doing, and they continue to love us from the other side.

I like thinking that you got all your memories erased. So that you can live in eternal peace, without having to think about the people you left behind. If you remembered... well, would you like to be eternally depressed?

I like to think my loved ones who passed on are watching over me, feeling pride with my accomplishments and sadness at my failures....but smile when I get up and try again.
