I thought there is a separation of the church and the state? Why are priests discussing there personal views in their sermons? Most politicians have their own 'spiritual adviser' priests who also serves as their campaigners/propagandists during elections.
Some activists priests are joining the rally to oust the President..some priest are filing graft and corruption charges to the president..
Did they lost their moral obligations to the people? Why are the priests so divided and yet the Vatican is not doing anything? IS the Catholic church beginning its collapse in the Philippines or maybe the whole world?
Whats your views on this?

imacatholic2--how about priest in one parish asking people to join the rally to oust the president..and another priest in the nearby parish asking people to support the president? the issue is not about the stand of the catholic church but the personal views of the priests that they cite Bible verses and use their sermons to support or oppose the politicians of their choice?
For example:
One priest told us."you support the president, the voice of the people is the voice of God. She is the true winner"..Another priest told us.."come join us in our rally to oust the President..she is not the voice of the people..she cheated on the elections"..
Are they just confusing the people?

The catholic church has always been involved in politics, trying to sway public opinion to get what they want, and gain power by manipulating politicians. All through history the church has tried to call policy in the way governments are run, and what laws are passed.Remember Jesus saying that he who would be first among mine shall be the least of mine? This means not putting yourself above others, in any way, and living simply. Have you noticed the pope lives in the finest luxery, eats the best foods, wears the best clothes, and basically has the bnest of everything? Did you know that the catholic church is a business, a multi billion dollar a year profit business? They own the company that owns Trojans condoms, btw. I thought the church didnt believe in birth control. They also lie about the molestation of children by their priests, and then move the priests somewhere els to molest again. They have even relocated priests to the vatican, to protect them from prosicution, and claim that they are under a higher law. My belief is that while on the earth, they should be subject to the laws of the land, and then be under Gods law when they go to heaven. I also think they should pay taxes, like everybody else. For too long have they hidden their huge profits, manipulations and lies behind the facade of being a religeous organization, while reaping multi billion dollar a year profits. They manipulate the media, try to hoodwink the public(See the article about Limbo, for example) manipulate the politicians, try to control what laws get passed, and make people think that they are flawed in the eyes of God, when God is perfect, and all of His creations are perfect as well. Why would God make something that wasn't perfect unto its own self? Why would God give us the ability to enjoy the body, heart and mind of our spouse? And why would God put a desire to procreate in us, if God thought it was wrong? The church would have you think sex is wrong, and that having "unclean thoughts" is a sin. What constitutes unclean? And by who's deffinition? I dont believe in the church. The church is of man. Man is fallable, God is not. All that you need to know God is written in your soul. That is all you need. But the church would have you believe it is the foremost expert on God, and that you must come to them to know God, or even get to heaven.

Priests have always stood up behind government. Just like the pope stood up behind Hitler, Hitler was a Catholic never removed from the Catholic church. Where there is money there is either the mob or a Catholic and I think they are one and the same.

Jesus said, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." (Matt. 28:18-20)
The Catholic Church has been telling the world governments what it believes is right and wrong since the ancient Romans stopped persecuting it and long before anyone heard of the freedom of speech.
The Catholic Church protested about the blood sports in the Roman Colosseum and they were stopped.
I don't think the Church is going to (or should) stop telling the world governments what is right or wrong now.
With love in Christ.

That's what religions do, don't you know. Tie themselves all up in the politics. Works great in countries all over the world.
Especially Catholics, that's what confession is all about, so they can know whats going on.
Luckily in America we don't let the majority religion, rule/control our politics.

They are very much involved because it has been that way for many many years...hard habits to break.
Filipinos are generally religious, and for whoever is on top, they have to please the people...so it's just logical for them to have spiritual advisers.
You know how things work there, you need backing of powerful people to convince others.
