When ever I sit for a period of time and then stand up I see brightness and feel unsteady, kind of dizzy. for instance, in the movie theater when I get up after a movie I always get dizzy and trip. Is there anything wrong with me? If so, what should I do?

Sounds like you have low blood pressure, also called vasovagal hypotension.
Very common and not dangerous. You just have to know what to do when it happens. Never, ever get up too fast. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded it is best to lie on the floor on your back with your legs up in the air. If that is not possible, put your head between your knees.
Take care in the summer months to keep hydrated. Gatorade is a great supplement.
Good luck!

Unfortunately, diagnoses cannot be made over the Internet, so only a doctor can tell you if what you are experiencing is "normal." Rest assured, however, that many people experience dizziness, faintness or light-headedness when they stand up- this is called postural hypotension (low blood pressure), and is due to a drop in blood pressure upon standing.

I kind of deal with that all the time. For me, it's usually when I've spent long hours on the computer or watching TV, doing something that strains my eyes. Your dizziness and tripping after watching a movie with your eyes trained on the bright screen is probably because of eye strain. A couple days of adequate sleep will probably do the trick.

It might be a sign of vertigo; other than that, I think it has something to do with the blood collecting in your lower extremities after you've been sitting for a while....the less blood you have circulating in your head, the more light-headed you feel
but if you get this condition often, you should probably talk to your family doctor about it

u should wait a while. it could be somthing related to u. r u worried about somthing? depressed? r u thinking too much? if not ..this could be seroiouse. u should go to the doctor and tell him that u get dizzy and that it happens to u all the time and that ur not really comfortable with it. but first wait a while... rest , relax, listen to music and then get up moving slowly not quickly. if u still feel dizzy go to the doctor. =]

Your symptoms could be from blood pooling in the veins of your legs. There is a test called a tilt-table study that can check for this possibility. If you do in fact have excessive blood pooling in the legs, you can try wearing elastic stockings; you should also stay well-hydrated (drink plenty of water dehydration can be a cause also); there are also certain prescription medicines that can be used in this situation if it's persistant.

You might have low blood pressure. Try getting up more slowly. Your doctor will be able to tell you more, you're not going to get an accurate diagnosis on Yahoo! Answers.
