Why do European countries have more atheists than in America?

China has the most atheists due to its population size and the Chinese state's rejection of organized religion as a tenet of a Communist society. Per capita though it is either Sweden or Vietnam, depending on the figures you use.

Netherlands
I did more research. It is Sweden with "85% of Swedes do not believe in a God" though it is as low as 23% in other surveys.
CIA factbook says"Religions: Lutheran 87%, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Baptist, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist" about sweeden. I guess if you are born to Lutherans and never think about it again it could go either way?
O'hare had it. I thought Netherlands was hi with 41%. (per CIA fact book)
China has the most, not per capita though.

OK, it depends who you ask. I would think it depends HOW you ask to. Do you go to church, are you religious and are you an atheist are all quite different. read the link...

Europe may have more atheists, but at least those atheists aren't just purely anti-Christian like here. Then again, at least the American anti-Christians aren't trying to blow us up like they are in the Mid East. Still, gotta wonder why Christians are so hated in this country by their fellow Americans.

Because the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is not being preached in other countries. Christ died for their sins if only they would believe and trust in that then more people would go to heaven than would go to hell.
