Yes, there are dogs that are trained for the hearing impaired. I work for an organization that trains these dogs. Are you looking for a dog? Or are you just interested? The organization I work for has volunteer opportunities for you to see a hearing dog in action and we're always looking for raisers, if you need a dog you can contact PAWS With A Cause at their website www.pawswithacause.org and we can get you in contact with a representative in your state.

Yes. I've seen dogs specifically trained for things such as recognizing the phone is ringing. You could probably check with your local pet assistance company/kennel. They might have one or two trained, or they would probably know of one that would.
