Translate...Pantheism-the belief that nature and God are one. Why do they get so angry and disgusted at the thought of us? Shouldn't they just be happy that we believe in somekind of God and it makes us better people?

The concept of God existing in everything is just too big for them to comprehend!

In fairness, I think you could also ask "Why are Jews so offended by Pantheism?" or "Why are Muslims so offended by Pantheism?"

Anyone who thinks that there is One God who created the universe and all of nature will be somewhat offended. IF you start with the core belief that God created nature, THEN you will take it for granted that God is superior to the thing He created. I don't think it's isolated to just Christians, but applies to most monotheistic religions. There are just more Christians, so you hear it from them more.

I am a Christian, and I am not angry or disgusted by you. I'm sorry if others have acted like that toward you. Unfortunately, being Christian does not automatically make one a perfect person.

Christians who get angry and disgusted at any other system of belief are not really practicing Christianity properly.

On that note, Christians may get sad or upset at the thought of people believing in other God's, that's because Christians believe anyone who has not recognized the one True God and chosen to, try to surrender their will to Christ and accept the fact he is their only hope for salvation will be eternally separated from God which is the separation from everything good.

I think it's because Genesis specifically mentions that God created nature and everything in it- not that God IS nature. They probably don't see that belief as true Christianity- more of a mockery of it. Can't say I know for certain, being that I'm not a Christian myself.

They think that false belief means you get tortured for all eternity by inventive demons in a fiery pit. So that's pretty much the source of their difficulty with it. Dear.

I am not offended by your religion. You don't disgust me. But, we believe God created nature in the same aspect that He created people, so to put those two in the same category, is well blasphemy. To each his own.

its not that they get offended...but it is troubling to see when one compares God and nature as being equal ....for God created nature not visa versa.....I worship the God who created nature.....and yes He did an excellent job of it...
