Who can prove that illegals pay taxes?

Suddenly I keep hearing that the criminals are paying all these taxes, I want some facts here people and try to remeber that I am anti-criminal. Give me some sources for your facts or just stay on the porch.

If you have a current passport you are here legally, bravo to your parents for getting legal and paying taxes, too bad they didn’t learn about birth control in the process. The might not be paying income taxes, but if they own real estate they're paying property taxes, and if they buy something at a store they're paying sales tax, and if they own a vehicle, they're paying registration, which is like a tax. Maybe that's what is meant by illegals paying taxes.

There are some illegal immigrants that do get paid cash under the table mostly construction, labor and farm workers. They as you guessed dont pay taxes. But the majority are hired by employers that have to declare taxes to the goverment for each employee they hire and in most of the cases if they are illegal they dont posess a social security number, so they invent one or use somebody elses; so they pay federal taxes, state taxes, medicare you know all the stuff that comes out of your check. They pay it too. In most states if they are not legal they dont have the right to claim state assistance(medicaid, stamps,...) so what they do is just pay taxes and get nothing back. And there are some that do pay taxes and also declare them and get em back.
So you see the illegal workers contribute to this country 42 thousand million dollars per year and get nothing close to that back. That there are some that dont pay taxes and take advantage of how the system works its true but the vast majority are on the other side paying taxes and seeing nothing of that back.

This is a great question and I have been waiting to see some real proof myself. So far I've seen nothing that proves they pay taxes. And the lame answers pointing out sales tax just make me laugh. woopie-sales tax! Some have provided links to nothing more than articles written by reporters, and they do not prove anything. As for the TIN, well call me dumb, but I believe you have to have a visa to get a TIN. If you have a valid visa then you're not illegal, also a TIN is for state taxes only, but that's beside the point. So this defense that "they have a TIN" proves nothing either. The question asked for PROOF that ILLEGALS pay taxes...it didn't ask for opinions from reporters, and visa holders with TIN's don't count as illegal. My conclusion is that there is NO PROOF. And really even if they did pay taxes it wouldn't make a difference to me, they're still illegals, still criminals and still need to be deported.

I am away from my usual computer with links, however, I understand that about a third do pay taxes. A number that had worker visas and overstayed just kept paying, for example. I'll go back to a recent response I did and see if I can find a link from a FAIR study showing the impact on native headed households from having to pay benefits to illegals. It deducted the taxes they paid (which the IRS does track) before it calculated the net economic damage. The taxes are typically federal whereas health and education costs are typically funded from local taxes, unfortunately.

One of the ways illegals work in this country in by the lease/theft/borrowing of a legal workers Social security number. (This way employers can claim that their workers are legal). Taxes are deducted from the workers pay. So if they made $250 a week, their take home is $175. They don't file tax returns, so they never get a refund. Therefore, they pay taxes.

They can get tax IDs that serves as a SS# so employers can take taxes out on them, and they can file for tax returns just as we do. How many actually have them I don't know. Working as a restaurant manager I know that the illegals that worked for our company had state tax taken from their checks, I know this because I had to fill out the paper work. And they pay the sales tax on any given item purchased.

I think the basis behind that argument is that sometimes illegals apply for jobs using fake social security numbers and the employer deducts taxes from their pay. Our government is so much red tape by the time they figure out the soc security number is fake, the illegal has moved on.
BTW: I don't disagree with you, we need to fix our border and protect this country while at the same time letting legitimate workers in legally.

Some illegals will file tax returns with a tax id number but only in cases where they know they'll get money back. Illegals never file taxes when they have to pay it would not be of benefit for them too.

Criminal make around 12-33 cents per hour if they work in the jail system. About 30-40% goes to restitution for victim. So that pay is docked. (So to speak).
Illegals?? Do not have a SSN card like us..it is called a TIN Card and looks the same as a SSN card. TIN=Tax identification Number. It is withheld and placed in "our" bulk account to off-set the SSN problem.

They pay taxes on their wages just like everyone else. How they do it is when they make up a social security number and taxes are taken out of their wages, the taxes actually end up in limbo. Because the numbers are made up, there is nowhere for the money to go but to end up in limbo and part of the U. S. treasury.....
