God wrote the Bible. We know this because the Bible says so.
How can anyone deny Gods own words?

Some people probably refuse to believe the words in the bible ARE the Words of God because of how it has been presented to them and who was the presenter. If you were at a church and this pastor was preaching "holier than though" every Sunday and then the Pastor goes out and participates in those same activites, no people aren't going to believe the words in the bible because of the actions of the messenger.

The bible has been rewritten so many times and the meaning of some of the words have been totally twisted. The bible as we know it today -- the coveted King James Version -- wasn't written by King James. He just decided that the books of the bible should be reviewed and a company of 64 men decided which books would make up the 66 books of the bible. There are numerous books of the bible in the Apocrypha that show much faith and belief, however, these MEN choose to leave those out.

Sometimes I chuckle because I'd like to know who was Jesus' secretary -- they kept very good notes. Sure I believe the words are inspired by the Holy Spirit, however, I must also consider that the words were written by MEN -- not just by any men, Jewish Men. The bible (old testament) was written for the most part to preserve a culture, a race of people. Any one who has studied the history of christianity knows that most churches were started by women. What happened to our female priests? What happened to Pope Joan? Well, some man came along and decided that or shall I say, interpreted scripture to mean that women were not to teach men. However, when you read the Book of Deuteronomy, you will see (depending on the translation) where women are instructed to teach the children (boys and girls). True, there are many contradictions in the bible, those are made by men and not by God. Decisions about religion and denominations are made by men -- many stating that the Holy Spirit is guiding them. Oh Yes, I believe in the Movement of the Holy Spirit, however, I watch more of what you do than what you say.

Talk about contraditions. The religious clerics in Israel got together and spoke out against the upcoming GLBT parade and fesitivites and encouraged people to block the streets should the GLBT people continue with their parade. Well, there is not going to be a Peaceful GLBT Parade, however, there is a bomb parade happening in that region and you don't see or hear the clerics coming together speaking out about another senselss war now do you. If these religious leaders haven't contradicted themselves over the past few months, I don't know who have. Although they may have said nothing regarding the war as my mother says "silence gives consent" -- meaning you are in agreement with something when you don't speak out.

People don't come to the light because their ways are darkness & if they come to the light what is hidden in the dark will be exposed. They love darkness rather than light.

There are so many apocraphal writings out there also that cause people to doubt & slander the true Word of God. It is written to not add or take away from God's Word or else one will be found out a liar. There are a lot of liars out there.

An excellent read is the jul-aug decision magazine on the authority of the bible. Why we can trust it & why we must obey it. Just call 1-877-247-2426 to get a copy. web site: decisionmag.org. email:decision@bgea.org.

An example is, "It was not man but God who determined which books would be in the New Testament by only inspiring 27 of them (2 Timothy 3:16). And the people of God discovered them immediately as they were written because these inspired books had the "fingerprints of God" on them. How so? They were written by an apostle or prophet of God (Ephesians 2:20); they were confirmed by acts of God (Hebrews 4:12); and they were immediately collected by the people of God (2 Peter 3:15-16). Indeed, within 100 years from the death of most of the opostles, all 27 books of the New Testament were recognized by Fathers in the early Church.".

Also, Jesus said that those that deny Him before others, He will deny them before the Father.

If God wrote the Bible, it would be one book that would not contradict itself. Instead, it is 66 books that have conflicting stories with each other.

Exodus 21:7 states that it is ok to sell your daughter into slavery. Exodus 35:2 states that anyone working for the Sabbath should be put to death. Are you really going to feel good about enforcing those? Luke 2:23 states that God thinks men are holy, and women are not, therefore they are unequal. Leviticus 11:10 states that you should kill everyone who eats shellfish. If you believe that the Bible is the word of God, and that word is infallible, you can't throw out some of the context just because you don't like them.

First off, this holy scripture that you speak of, was not written by G-d. It was written by men that chronicled the events surrounding a people chosen by G-d. The story of Yeshua's life was written by at least four different men. If the holy text were written by G-d then it would say "and on Shabbat, I rested." Do you find any first person perspective writings in regard to G-d? No. That is because the text was written by men that observed the works of G-d, or chronicled what had been up to that point an oral history. G-d did not repeat the creation to each and every generation since Adam, it was experienced then passed down as an oral tradition until someone, a human, decided to write it down.

On another note, how can so many christians refuse to believe in science. The christians believe the world is less than 5000 years old. Geological evidence clearly shows it is much older than this. The earth is about 4.5 billion years old. Why do so many refuse to believe this? Do you honestly think G-d is testing you? Perhaps it is not a test of faith, but of humanity's worthiness. Perhaps G-d wants to see if we are capable of understanding the world we live in, to use the thinking imaginative minds we were given, afterall, weren't we created in the image of G-d? Perhaps G-d wants us to think and marvel at all of creation, to explore it all, to see all the wonders that G-d has made, things even beyond this earth.

Or perhaps, G-d does not exist, and this is just what a fearful primitive people made up to explain a frightening and wondrous world. To you it makes no sense to not believe because you are one who chooses to believe. To those who do not, it makes no sense to do such. It is a matter of perspective.

Since you're a "bible dude" I assume you've read the whole book. Nowhere in the Bible does it say God wrote the Bible because those individual authors of the different books of the Bible didn't even know their writings would be chosen to be part of the man-made Bible. Sorry, you need read more and attend more Bible study sessions before you attempt preaching.

All kinds of reasons but when you boil it down it's just Grace.

Why were you born in a place where you had the opportunity to come to know Jesus and even own a Bible instead of a country where you were born to a family of people in the Sudan.

You suffered hunger from the moment you were born and though your parents knew about God there was nothing they could to to feed you so you starved to death. Grace. It is only God's grace that you have the opportunities you do.

Pray for grace for those who do not understand the Bible and it's significance.

Because we have proof MEN wrote the bible! Even if God inspired the original text, it has been changed so often by Kings and Bishops and charlatans to suit their needs, the original message is long gone! The fact that God has not "preserved" it is conclusive proof that either He does not care, or that He did not inspire it! Think about your faith for just a minute...If you had been born 600 years ago, you'd be a Catholic!

The bible is far from being God's word.

You should just be nice to people and get a clue!

P.S. It is "God's", not "Gods"!

The Bible is actually not a single book but a collection of 66 books(the number differs regarding which denomination you are from). Where does it claim that it is written by God? Ok--if one book claims--what about the rest? Who decided that only 66 books are canonical and how do you know they are right?
The muslims believe that a single book Quran is God's word and in Quran you will find that God is claiming that it is His own word.
So, how can you deny that?

One cannot be sure of the existence of any gods, let alone what their words might be. Other religions make similar claims. They cannot all be correct. Probably, none are! All we can say for certain about the Bible is that it is what some men claim God said. God does not appear to me. If you say he appears to you, let me introduce you to my girl who is a Registered Nurse specializing in Psychiatry. Some people want badly to believe in anything, whether it be religion, PETA or Astrology. I want to know things by thinking carefully and observing evidence. "Believe" means to accept ideas as true without proof.

Using the Bible...to demonstrate the Bible, something's wrong with that circular logic.

Sorry but the Bible was written by many different men throughout several nations and centuries. Doesnt mean it wasnt divinly inspired or whatever nonsense you theists do but it wasn't written by God. States so in it too. Thought Moses 'wrote' the Pentateuch anyway. (Plus contradicts itself hundreds of times, etc etc. so it's by men divinly isnpired or not)
