A tag is the code or command enclosed in the following characters:

Most tags require an open and close tag so it is good to get in the habit of closing all of your tags that way you won't have to try to remember which ones need them and which ones don't.

The opening tag is like this:
The closing tag is like this:


You would first open this tag with "" then type the text, then clost the tag with "".

Example:

This is a bold tag. I have opened it, typed something, then closed it.

Tag is the same with the word "codes" use in HTML. maybe you should learn HTML first to be much familiarize in dreamweaver. it would really help you a lot. here an easy tutorial site for html.. www.w3schools.com

well if you are a graffiti artist then a tag is yur mark like when you graffiti something.....and tagging is just graffiting
