Oh dear, people. Can't you tell what this question is really doing? Do you notice how its logic concisely parallels the logic of most of the unbelieving scripture-bashers who frequent this lovely zone of cyberspace?

People's ideas about Count Chocula are stupid, that means Count Chocula doesn't exist, right?

The idea of God itself is a silly way for people to deal with the fact that we still do not have definite answers for life's biggest questions.

Well first of all by your question it shows that you believe. If you did not, you would not have capped "God". It shows that there is some kind of relevance to Him. Whether or not personal, it is showing that you accept that He is out there.
Secondly, just because you believe that peoples ideas about God are stupid, doesn't mean they are. We are all human and have our own perspective on things. Even if those perspectives do not agree, with us..they are our own.
The real question is this. Do you believe in God. That is the main thing to answer, and no one but you can make that decision. Asking a question on whether God exists or not is not the issue. Deciding for yourself whether He does or does not exist is.

No. The existence or nonexistence of God is a matter which has nothing to do with people's ideas. He either does or doesn't. People have a lot of stupid ideas about a lot of things, it doesn't change whether the things exist or not.
For example, most people think that we actually VOTE for the next president, when the next president is chosen by the God in the voting machines.
Deus ex machina.

A very simple lesson in grammar and psychology will answer your question. 1) "People's" is an adjective describing something about the "ideas" you talk about. Since "People's" and "ideas" are a combination or adjectival noun, your sentence says that people are stupid. 2). In psychology it has long been proven that an individual who assigns qualities to "people" that he does not know is actually projecting his or her own qualities. Therefore your first sentence says that YOU are stupid. Since you have clearly stated that YOU are stupid, I certainly can't speak highly of your second sentence or supposed conclusion. Oh well. Maybe it's YOU that doesn't exist. But, since you are the one that asked your stupid question, I must say that, by all accounts, you do exist, so, all I can say now is, God Bless YOU.

God does indeed exsist and is very real.......He has been real since the very beginning and will be till the very end. He created heaven and earth......look around you and see the flowers, green grass, blue skies, the lakes, the streams, the lightening in the sky during a storm, the sound of thunder....just look around you and you will see God.

He is the author of our lives......He knew each and everyone of us before we were concieved in our mothers womb.......it was Him that put us there and He knew and knows His plans for us. He gave up His own Son so that we might be free and live eternally in heaven with Him. All we have to do is Accept that gift of Jesus and ask Him to come into our hearts and be Lord of our lives. It says in the bible " No man gets to the father but by me" So, to get to God we must know and accept Jesus.

I encourage you to pick up a bible and read about God and Jesus........dont believe people who try to tell you God isnt real.........because the truth is God is real and He loves you very much and wants a personal relationship with you more than ever.

Good luck to you and God bless you!

Not everyone's ideas about God are stupid.... Michelangelo for instance. Look up at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and tell me its stupid.

Having said all that, You're right, God doesn't exist except in the hearts and minds of His followers.

Did Christ give John intellectual evidence? Did John go on the internet? God is beyond theory and belief. Christ gave the Knowledge of the Holy Name and Divine Light to his disciples. This Knowledge is described in scriptures. But the scriptures are like road signs. They lead to Knowledge. They are not Knowledge themselves. This knowledge is beyond scriptures, intellect, and even the senses.

God is like the wind you cant physically see him but the wind exists doesnt it? I really feel sorry for you because something bad must have happened in your life to make you say the things that you do. And the real christians in here should pray for you.
I pray that God heals whatever hurt is so deeply implanted in you that has made you so hardhearted towards him.
