It seems as if the super religious people are always trying to convert or "save" others. These are also the ones who get to decide what's right and what's wrong. Don't they have their own lives and families to worry about?

I'm agnostic, by the way.

Hmmm, I dunno. I guess I'm agnostic too (although I'm kind of agnostic about my agnosticism...). But I have been getting more spiritual lately, because I suffer from depression and ETOH dependency, and my life was pretty much put on ice.

I find that as I am getting my head together, and seeking God, or the higher power, or whatEVAH, that I am less interested in getting into other peoples' business... the way I was before, I was running with different individuals into very bad places, getting plastered, having sex with anyone I found attractive (and sometimes, with anyone I FOUND), getting all caught up in interpersonal drama, etc., etc... Now I have bagged all that - my life is at stake.

But then again, I'm not one of the super-religious folks you're talking about. Also, I don't think I've even MET any of these super-religious folks. I hear about them all the time. O well, I guess I will someday.

Cheers, Jack

Religion isn't about getting in any-ones business. It is about faith. It is about standing up for what you believe in. As Christians it is our job to spread the gospel. If people don't want to hear it, that's fine. We just move on until we find someone who does. I spread the world of God because I love the Lord and I enjoy helping people. I was not always the person that I am today. There was even a low point in my life where I was even close to questioning the mere existence of God. However, since learning from the mistakes of my past and establishing a relationship with God, my life has made a 360 degree change for the better. I am now experiencing more joy in my life then I could ever have imagined. The Lord has blessed me with a fantastic wife, a great job, a great family, my health and strength and perhaps most importantly sound mind and inner peace. I spread the word of God because I want everyone to experience the joy and happiness that I am feeling. The kind of happiness that money can't buy. The kind of joy that comes only from God. Religion isn't a means used to get into other people's business, it is simply put, God's business. This is the Cave Man signing out. Peace and God bless.

No it's not. Unless they are Catholic. Catholics, Mormons,Jehova's Witnesses,Muslims are the religions that try to convert everybody against their own free will. I believe that people should just believe what they want to believe. I mean I'm an idependant fundalmentialist Baptist but I dont go around trying to convert people. I mean I'll invite them to church. But I wont like force them to go. And it's mainly Catholic because I read somewhere that they need like a certain amount of people to join if they want to go to Heaven. But Catholics are screwy anyway.

I agree with you. They seem to forget that Christ said in the Sermon on the Mount "Judge not lest ye be judged yourself. Do not say 'brother let me take the speck out of your eye' when there is a log in your own."

its an excuse to make urself feel like ur better than others.

i used to have these baptist neighbors and my little brother would play with their son. i normally have no problem with uber religious ppl. but these ppl would pray constantly, read the bible constantly, and i would go to their house to pick my bro up and they would be listening to gospel music and preaching the bible to my brother. which i dont think is right.

and the kid my bro played with was a JERK. he would talk sh!t about me for no reason. so i went outside one day to tell him to stop, which i did calmly, and the mother comes out and starts screaming at me. she basically told me im a bad person cuz i dont go to church, im a liar, and i disobey my parents, and im going to hell apparently. i was nothing but nice to these ppl, and i am religious, i just dont preach my views to others.
