Look, someone is carrying or recently gave birth to a serial killer, rapist, terrorist, high-school shooter, oil company CEO or cokehead/alcoholic who will swindle his/her way into the presidency and wreak havoc on the Constitution. They can't all be little angels. Why is every life a "miracle"?

When scientists can take a whole cell from a man and turn it into two sperm, and take a whole cell from a woman and turn it into two ova/unfertilized eggs,

then get lucky enough to get at least one sperm to penetrate the tough wall of at least one of the ova (usually it takes lots of sperm beating against the wall to weaken it enough to break through, so maybe the scientists will have to help a little), and get the nuclei to merge and actually make a whole human nucleus,

then they manage to get fertilized egg hooked up to something that will provide food, fluids, oxygen, etc,

then it actually grows into a breathing, joyful person (usually it's the big smile on a baby that attracts comments like "Oh, what a little miracle!")

THEN maybe we can stop calling a someone's conception/birth a miracle.

Now if a scientist can go a step further and create an embryo out of nothing but earth & water then we can definitely stop declaring someone's conception/birth a miracle!

Now calling an evil person a miracle may turn ones stomach, but we still have plenty of other things that we can shout at those foul people instead. Just don't reduce your self to their level. Live like a miracle.

Because a baby is a new creation on this earth. It may happen often, but each is unique. Certainly some may grow up to be rotten people, but that sort of life is the result of choices made along the way, once the individual has reached an age of accountability... at sometime, however, they were a baby, and as such a blank slate, are special.

Because the process in which an embryo becomes a fetus, which physically transforms into a human-looking being IS a miracle!

Jesus is a miracle because he was always meant to be king of kings.Rapist etc are not labeled that at birth because they have to allow Satan to lead them to those things of sin to become it.

Sentient consciousness from a sperm and egg.
Life. Three from two. God loves 'em all.

The path the newborn takes, later, is another matter.

Life is a miracle... what a person does with it is free will.

Probably for the same reason why you can point to your pregnant belly and tell everyone "we're pregnant!" but you can't point to your pregnant belly and say "look! we did it like they do it on the Discovery Channel!"

because they all have potential, and its not our place to decide whether they get to have a chance or not. you concieve a baby, you get a baby unless God decides otherwise
