There's a saying in the military "There are no atheists in the fox holes".

In case you don't know what that means, when soldiers are on the battle front taking cover in holes in the ground as bullets buzz by and shells are exploding they're all praying for God to save them.

It's not like God is unaware of this human tendency. Many times in the Bible He tells the Israelites that when He blesses them and things are going good that they are going to forget about Him and then He removes his protection and allows them to get into trouble so that they will turn back to Him again.

Thats the sad part of life. God wants us to have an ongoing relationship with Him through good times as well as the bad times.

The people that do that don't really care about God and don't really want to know about God. God is beyond theory and belief. Christ gave Spiritual Knowledge which is beyond scriptures, speech, or even the senses. But what did Christ give?

Those who don't have a real relationship with Him and don't understand what He's all about. It's natural to cry out to Him when we are in trouble, but we should also thank Him for all He does for us daily.
