You can get sued for anything, pretty much. A lawsuit is a civil action, not a criminal action.

Isn't your question really, "Am I responsible for what the other driver does?". To that I would have to answer NO, unless the oterh driver is a teen. If the other person drives and speeds, should you be responsible for the ticket? You are not responsible to monitor the driving of another adult just because you own the car... What if the car was stolen and used in a crime - are you responsible?

yes you can,,and probably will be if this happened,,legally you responsible for everything that happens with that car,since your name is on it,,the only way you could be exempt from it would be to report it stolen,,other wise ever who they hit,,is going to want their car fixed ,,and probably damages too,,i hope this works out good for you,,but its a bad situation,,when it comes down to it,,the advice of a lawyer might be needed on this one,,hope this help,s some.
