The heck with meaning, beauty, and love. They're just random collisions of fundamental particles. It's all just atoms and the void. Puts on a good show, but we're just waiting for the lights to go out. Right?

Well put :)

If there is no God, I would agree with you entirely...

Thankfully however, there is scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm)

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

Cordially,
John

Tell me realisticly: If there were no God and no reason for life - what realy would be the point. Of Life that is. Do you really think the Bible survived since the first man walked on the earth by - chance? And there have been numerous times thru history that man has tried to destroy it. But each time the Bible and God - have won!
If a huge bang created all creation and it just happened. Then why on earth has it not been repeated. If that were the case wouldn't every planet have life and have been created the same way? If our universe was created by the chance of a chaotic occurance. Then how is it our universe is so well balanced and has an order to every thing in it right down to the smallest atom? What happens when you throw a rock into a mud puddle? Does any thing of beauty and order come from it? Or is it just a mucky mess. On the other hand - What happens when you carefully work that mud into bricks and follow a PLAN and build something beautifull with it. Chaos creates nothing but chaos. Order has to be involved for any thing of order to be created. The order was GOD. In the begining GOD created the world. He created man in his own image. Which means - we look allot like him.
There's no such thing as a random collision in this universe. If there was You and I would not exist!

Hmmm. Well to answer your question. Yes we would be better off.

Without god (more specifically religious nuts who created the boogeyman) the world would have more love, beauty, and meaning. We wouldn't be under a veil of oppression and hate from a christian government that will go down in history as the basis for the collapse of America

What's the fun in that?
You might as well just become a true environmentalist. (commit suicide)
God or no gods, we are emotionally driven to create. If we create more than we use up in resources, perhaps we can eventually get creative enough to find that the lights aren't going out everywhere, or that we can become smart enough to stop the lights from going out.
Gods are just a distraction and a marketing gimmick, like a video game.

I think it's a matter of perspective, but some would argue that we ARE in a meaningless void of Godlessness.

Life is empty and meaningless. We attempt to give it meaning because our brains demand order. The truth is, none of this matters.

At all.

Nope we wouldn't be better off because man is constantly questioning his existence and place in the universe and God helps us fill that void inside of us that asks for more.

There is still plenty of beauty and love in a godless world. I'd say there's significantly more beauty and love without superstition like that.

we could live off a purely scientific world techinically. But the entire thing of religion is based off of not enough common knowledge like germs and stuff so we could actually technically yes kill God. But what fun would that be. Som e of the most basic moral behaviors are modeled off of religion

That place doesn't exist and you wouldn't be any better off there anyway... God loves you and is trying to woo you to Him. Unfortunately, He doesn't use nice things to do this. He brings trials and problems into our life to draw us closer to Him and to cause us to trust Him more. He has His purpose in every little aspect of our lives, yours included... Try counting your blessings and looking for the good in every situation... Don't forget to thank Him... He likes that...!

We do live in a godless universe.
If your life would be meaningless, without your imaginary god, well that is just truly sad.
