I have a 3.5 yr. old black lab who is the biggest sweetheart in the world. When we play with certain toys when she comes to give them to you to throw, sometimes she comes at you with a lot of energy and sometimes steps on your bare feet and it hurts! What is the best way to teach her to watch out for peoples feet?

I used to have a lab too... labs in general jsut are kind of.. umm rude I guess you could put it with getting in other people's space.. lol I dont' think there's really anything you can do but to wear shoes aroudn her when she is would up, because I had no luck with my lab ever with getting her to not step on feet, not whip ppl with her amazingly hard tail and other stuff like that. good luck!

you are going to have to teach her to sit when she brings you the toy back. work with her about 15 min a day on doing this it may take 2 people. have one person throw the ball and the other person to have a leash or something to stop the dog. but if she already knows how to sit then there should be no problem she just needs to get in the routine as soon as she gets in front of you she needs to learn to sit

well, if you play with her, she will get excited and step on your feet. I suggest wearing shoes. You could yell at her and say no, but then shell get confused cz u are playing with her. good luck.

corrective discipline like a backhand across the dog's shoulders usually works pretty good!
