If its the first time, then it isn't really love. Before you can know its love you first must have your heart ripped out by someone who personally held it in their hand and promised you before God and on every living thing that they would never hurt you. Then when you have felt that pain, you can now discern that it wasn't really love, just that you really like boning her on her parent's bed while they were at the store. Then when you grow up and go away to college and find 25 sorority chicks that want to make you their sex slave to call when any of their single sisters needs a rimmy and do all your chemistry homework for you because you rock their worlds like none of the metro-homo-asexual frat boys can. After that you step into the real world to find that no matter what you do, love can be anywhere, and with anyone, you want it to be, you will know its love because its a choice. The ultimate realization about what love is, is that it is your choice to love someone. If you think you are in love you are not. You choose to love, every day that you do it.

That's really hard to explain. When I was 13-14 I thought I was in love with a guy that I actually got engaged to. We of course broke up. I then starting dating a guy that I am still dating and the feelings I felt for him were something I had never felt before. I just knew I was in love. I know that sounds silly, but it's true. I realized I actually hadn't been in love before, but just in love with the idea of being in love. If you constantly think about the next time you'll see this person you think you love and would do anything for them, constantly sit around and sigh thinking about them then you'll probably in love.

Love is not lust, dont be confused with the comforts and joys of love with lusts thoughts and urges, when you love that person, you know in your heart that you never looked at that person the same way you have ever looked or felt about anyone before.

It feels like flying though surprisingly you remain earthbound. Hard to miss that one! Most people btw experience love long before the first time they count as such, thanks to moms and dads and the rest of the family. This feeling gradually changes and at best transforms you as a person.

Because you just want to spend day and night with that person and you picture yourself having a family , doing things that you never did before for any other partner .. when you love you give up all your bachelor/ette habits and you're not sad about it..

dude, theres really one way to be sure...... try going out on 3 dates with 3 other people and if you spend the whole night thinking you should be with the other then you know... also the other party needs to do this to so they know how they feel about you too.

When you see the person and you get this feeling that you can't be apart. they say love is blind but i don't think it is. You feel it more than you see it really. when you are in love you will know no questions asked...

you don't... Usually the first time you feel as though you're in love turns out to be an innocent crush!! (which can be real fun, so enjoy!!) when you experience real LOVE you will know!

if you have patience. And it really depends on hw old you are. People don't normally begin to feel 'love" until their late teens and twenties.
