On a fuji, you MUST safely remove hardware from your computer by ejecting it on your computer before you remove it from your card reader or shut off your camera. Try plugging it into your computer, turn it on, eject it, and then turn off the camera. This works with my Finepix S5100. If that doesn't work, reformat it.

Or....
Your card may have to be changed for a new one.
All memory cards have a long, long life and you dont really have to worry about them but it is not forever that you can use them. After some years (depending on how often you use it, how often you play with it, if you usually choose the photos and delete them in the acrd with the camera and so on), you need change it.
So, if you do the formating, if your card has a locking pin and you put it off and even then it is still not beeing initialised, then you will have to buy another one.

Format the card.

This can be an indication the Card has gone bad.

I see it a lot.

Flash cards are seeing shoddy workmanship these day, but the makers often offer 3 to 5 year or lifetime warranties.

on the side of the memory card, there's a little white piece , it locks up the card so it cant be read. just switch its position and your good to go.
