I've tried RecoverMyFiles software that helps recover files after it's been formatted. It found a couple photos but most were small thumbnail images. Is there a good one out there you guys would suggest? Thanks in advance.

You might want to try Gibson Research. They sell software for data recovery.

you don't need all that porn anyway...

well, seriously though, if your pics are worth saving. Don't do anything else- it's just going to rewrite over your data!!! Stop following other peoples suggestions, stop surfing the net! Unplug your drive and call a recovery specialist. You can mail off your drive and for a couple hundred bucks they can get almost everything back... that's if it's actually worth that much to you.

If not, you can keep trying to get the "right" software. Good luck! Happened to me once in college- and because I had a lot of important files I coughed up the dough because I needed it done right and in a hurry.

You can pay $300-$600 for them to be recovered off your computer if you don't know how to do it yourself. Circuit city will try to do it for $60. But, nothing on your computer is ever totally gone.
