Is there a chemical in chocolate that makes us crave milk maybe?

I love milk it does the body good ,, And I drink milk with ice mmmm good , I never thought of a certain chemical in chocolate I'm a chocoholic too and milk and something chocolate make a great couple " Ebony and Ivory"

That's a good question. I have to have milk everytime I eat chocolate, I do it because if I eat the chocolate without milk I get a headache. It just seems they belong together.

I don't crave milk. I hate milk. But I usually do feel like something's missing. I think its just because chocolate has such a rich flavor that it needs to be supplemented with something to balance it.

I think because milk is a thick base. Cupcakes and other chocolate goodies are thick so I am guessing you need a thick drink. Another one is coffee , but that goes good with other cakes, like coffee cake.

Not really... it's pretty much because of the way these foods are presented... In the ads or comemrcials, they show these people eating brownies or cupcakes with a glass of milk nearby... I mean, seriously, if Oreo did not say it's good with milk, do you think you would even try Oreo with milk? So our brains are now brainwashed to eat chocs with milk.
It's all in the marketing.

Speak for yourself. I could never crave milk. The smell makes me ill! It is nasty! Milk is *runs to bathroom to blow chunks*
