I have worked in some. It is very weird. Yeah people do that. They will do anything. Do you really want to know.

They will smear their poop on the wall when in isolation. They will hurt themself with anything they have around. It depends on how sick someone is.

Kids or adults try to poison themselve or hurt temselves for attention.

Try not to get to sick and have to go. If you are thinking of working in one of those place make sure you are mature enough to handle it. Life can be ugly. You cannot be crying at a hospital. They need you to help if you are there to work. One of my friends came to visit me at another place I worked. She freaked out because she saw a baby in a body cast. Well babies have birth defects sometimes and they need surgury. People cannot go crying all the time. They cannot treat patients like freaks they need love. Life is not pretty, but it is life and we just help people.

there is some very odd things people will do in there i was in one for one week and when i was there there would be a constant banging from this girl who would wake up from getting a shot of Thorazine and having a boy ejaculating all over his room and all over his roommates bed and then there is always the occasional self harm and freak out but people all are different so it depends i also go to a school for the mentally challenged and children with emotional and behavioral problems the best answer is the most unexpected things can happen if someone is that upset

I work in in an adolescent place. the walls in the dayroom are covered with paper so the residents can draw on the walls. There is a classroom so they don't fall behind in school. there is also a gym they go to everyday. We have one room where someone is placed if they become violent but I don't think it's a cold, uninviting place. We want them to get better, not lock them away.

I work in one and yes, they can and do have some pretty serious outbursts. The walls are not white by the way. They are multi colored and in mostly pastels.
