the way the world is going, we can't HURT anyones feelings. I understand why, but its getting really weird and we all know it. it makes me sick - alittle bit offensive behavior or verbage is great. -------also, how many of you out there agree or disagree with me and why. -political correctness is wrong in my book. ----------------ie: I hate that people want to say "happy holiday" instead of "merry xmas" ---and some people or religions get their "feelings" hurt-----screw them

i agree as well. PC is the down fall of our country right now. you cant say this and you cant say that. its all garbage, your not going to like everything everyone has to say, thats apart of the beauty of the system. we all get our own opinion. one shouldnt have to hold back there thoughts and views simply because it might offend some one. hell it offends me to have to hold back, so i dont, wont and cant. im not relgious, but merry christmas, its a tradition! say the pledge and include god, faith is the back bone of our nation, be it in one god 100 gods or no god at all. faith that we are right and true in this world. screw the politics too! just because you dont like something some one says doesnt mean they cant say it...

We are all different. I personally could give a crap less whether someone says "Merry Christmas," because for me it doesn't have any meaning with Christianity. I am Atheist and yes I don't want your f-ing religion shoved down my throat (especially since it cannot be proved). This is just one example. I'm sure there are many others if you look on the other side of whatever you are sensoring or making PC.

EDIT: BTW, religion and morals DO NOT go hand in hand (a comment by the person above this comment). I have great morals, but don't believe. I know a hell of a lot of people who are Christian, but do not have very great morals.

Because if our country was founded on Judeo Christian values, we should look out for the weakest in our society. It does no one any good to hurt others. And as a minority in this land, I know what it is to be on the outside, and frankly ignorant people offend me. I would rather err on the side of caution and not offend someone. What difference does it make if I try not to offend someone? Well, to me it means I have compassion. And I am not conserving it, I believe compassion is not something you use up. There is no need to conserve it.
Oh, and as far as the "God" in the pledge. It wasn't in the original Pledge.
What happened to the golden rule? Do unto others... etc?
And no one is telling you you can't say Merry Christmas. Bill O'Reilly's rant about Walmart was just plain silly. They still sold Christmas trees, not holiday trees. It's the language of the dollar, not of the PC patrol.

I'm not that concerned about it. A world where noone is ever offended....mix that with the school teams where everyone makes it...and you'll have a situation where noone knows what to do when they fail...or feel bad. We'll have people waiting in line to jump off bridges when the real world hits them...
People need to be prepared for reality...not everyone is the same religion, so what. I'm Catholic..and if someone wished me a Happy Hannukah, I would not spontaneously combust. I would say thanks...because the sentiment is the same. People need to relax, and get real...

If you don't wish me a "merry Christmas" My feelings get hurt. Political correctness is the new speak of the fundamentalist liberals jamming their secular world down our throat. If someone wishes me happy Hanukas or mazeltov I know they wish me well even if I'm not Jewish. If in doubt you could say happy Hanukkah and merry Christmas, they are different days usually.

Yep- I feel the SAME WAY. Screw them, I'll say Merry Christmas to whoever the hell I want to! This world is getting worse and worse. At Christmas, whenever I would go to a store, and the greeter would say "happy holidays" I would say "NO Merry Christmas" just to piss them off. If you dont like it, MOVE to another country!! Like I said before...this world is getting worse and worse!

So you're willing to ignore the fact that there isn't just one religious holiday at that time of the year. Ignorance is bliss.

It's not a matter of political correctness. It's a matter of respect. Not being able to show others respect is a sure sign that you do not respect yourself.

I agree. Everyone is offended by something, and everything offends somebody. Either everything's okay to say, or nothing is.
I'm not a bigot. I believe in tolerance and politeness. I would never go out of my way to offend someone, but you have to admit that sometimes it just gets downright silly.

Thanks to the lefties and the ACLU, political correctness is the worst thing that's happened to this planet since William Shatner! Talk about taking a good thing WAY too far!!! I'm a Christian, and I try never to offend people unless they push me too far, but anyone looking for PC-ness from me can kiss my @$$!!! Do we have freedom of speech or don't we?

What are you talking about?

Of course people's feelings can be hurt. Where are you living? People's feelings get hurt everyday.

How would you like someone insulting your weight, race, or looks? You wouldn't. You don't have the right to do that to someone else, either.
