I'm not looking for fancy photoalbums or cards to be created.. just plain photography for getting ready, the ceremony and few family shots.. Please Help! there has to be someone out there that charges <$300 for an hour or two.

Go to the local college and get the names of students who are specializing in photographic art and see if one of them would be your photographer for that amount that you are offering. You would be surprised how good some of them are.

A student photographer, or a photographer for a small local paper, might be able to help you. Wedding photographers tend to have lots of experience and are busy with larger products every Saturday and Sunday.

If you find someone to do this, make sure they are shooting digital and ask them to include the price of burning a couple CDs (or a DVD) of their photos to give to you at the end of the day. You can work with digital photos much more easily and for less money... I think 8x10 prints on Shutterfly are 99 cents. Wedding photographers charge $20 or more for the same thing!

I accept as true with the first poster, attempt craigslist. it is the position i got here across my photographer. There are frequently those who're basically starting up out, yet do tremendous artwork. they typically furnish price reductions with the intention to improve their portfolio and get more effective artwork. the persons i got here across are $500 and that includes 2 photographers, infinite volume of images and time, 50 5x7 prints, and all pictures taken on a extreme decision disk that i'll reproduce as i opt for.

Rent equipment and let a family member or two family members do their thing. One with a nice camera, one with a camcorder. Go from there at least you'll save some money . That's what I did, I pick out the two people that loves to take pictures and love the cam and it actually came out really nice. Think about it ,or try something else.
