Dressing up is not in the Bible! Next, Tithing is asked of christians to be done. God does not need anything from you at all He made you because you need Him.
That is not to say God does not love you. I am just telling you that what it states in the Bible. Your heart is what God wants.

I do not agree with the statement.
Before I give my reasons, I would like to establish the point that the church is the company of believers. It is not a place, institution, or a lseparate egal entity recognised by law.
1. There is no biblical requirement to dress up to be in the company of believers.
2. There is no biblical requirement to give money to the church. But there are many NT examples of believers VOLUNTARILY giving to the needs of others, and to those involved in itinerant work of proclaiming the Gospel. Giving is encouraged and made voluntarily, not commanded or coerced.
3. The idea of "going to church" is foreign to the Bible. It is the vocabulary of a wrong idea that church is a place. One can go to church meetings, or church gatherings, but not go to church, bearing in mind the meaning of the word church.
And because none of the above things are Biblical requirements, whether God deserves it or not does not even factor into the question!

God doesn't require me to dress up or even go to church, but if I want to have a relationship with Him I do it.
I look at it this way. If I have a date, I'll dress up for it and look my best. I feel like Sunday is my "date" with God and my relationship with Him will last longer than any earthly relationship I would ever have. If I'm in love with someone, I want to talk to them everyday and see them as much as I can. It's a bummer that I can only praise in my church once a week, although, I praise and pray whenever I can, just like I want to call and talk to my loved ones a few times a day.
I don't know if He "deserves" it as much as it being a small thing my part in the relationship to tell God how much I treasure Him. People don't "dress up" at my church, they mostly wear jeans. If you're dressing to the hilt, ask yourself if you're doing it to impress other people or to impress God. It's all where your motivation comes from.

God accepts you just the way you are! But something happens and you want to dress for God! As far as God saying you do not have to give money to the Church you need to look at Malachi chapter 3!
God expects us to tithe a tenth of our income and to bring it to the storehouse on the first day of the week! As far as not going to Church God requires that we go to Church so that we do not forsake the fellowship of the saints!

I agree with the first part. The second part... eh.... I don't think God needs money, I mean, what's She going to do with it? I don't think She even notices when I dress up either. I like to dress nice to show my respect, but that's mostly for my own standards. I don't go to church as a favor to God. I go there for my own spiritual needs, and that's what the purpose of every church should be. Blessed be.

that is a tough one. I believe that he does not require me to be fancy donate tons of $ or even go there but I do not even know that he deserves it. By that I mean, If I am poor he takes me as I am. If I can give the spare change in my purse then he is ok with it, and the fact that I am at church to fellowship simply thrills him. He deserves far more then I could ever give. all though I will not stop trying.
That is why he is my GOD. he takes me as I am and cleanses me.

hey hun...i go to a small country church and of course the ladies wear dresses or skirts but the men are more then welcome to wear there best pair of jeans and a nice shirt (as you can see no one would be turned away for not being dressed to the nines..the persons souls is so much more important then the clothes on his back)...And 1 Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. (exhortation meaning a speech that encourages or earnestly advises) (doctrine meaning teaching) I believe this verse strongly suggest people study their bibles to grow stronger in their faith & attend church...church is a place to worship God and to help you understand some things about God's word that we may not be able to understand on our own not to mention it helps us christians to grow stronger by being surrounded by other christians at church...as for giving money we give what we can... I believe it is purly Gods blessing that we have the financhal security that we do so yes we should give what we can when we can to show appreciation...love daisy

I think God care more what in the heart than outward appearance.
but that should not be an excuse to be a sloppy. How we dress do express how we are. I do not mean expensive clothing, but rather pleasant or conservative. I 'm sure you would not go to a wedding in torn jeans, or bring your swim gear to a football game.
Same with paying Tithe, it is require, God do not care how much you earn, but rather how willing and how honest that you give.

Well I cannot agree or disagree. You see He doesn't require you to dress up (as a matter of fact Paul recommends you dress "down") but Tithing and Church attendance are Required.

Give money...You are not required to give money, but you are required to give 10% of yourself. Whether it be 10% of your income, 10% of your day doing acts of charity, like at your church, or soup kitchen. You can even split up your time, and money. In all reality it was not ours in the first place, God is only asking for 10% of what is His. I think that's pretty darn generous, don't you?
Also, in the bible it says, thou shall not forsake the assembly of the saints, a verse in Hebrews 10:25. This means you need to get together to worship, to be built up in Christ, and share the word of Christ. How else are you going to get encouraged, and really get to know God. We need to surround ourselves with other believers.
About getting dressed up...You put on your Sunday's best for the Lord, your best garbs. You get all dressed up for a date right? Why not for God, but who are we to judge what somebody is wearing, they made it to church right? That's all that really matters. Maybe that is all they have, or maybe they feel they are dressed up. Yes, you should dress up for God, but not everybody has the clothing to dress up in, and that's OK. Only God knows what is in their heart.
