I am with you. That's what I've been asking myself these last weeks. What ever happened to the "Patriot" missiles that track enemy rockets and destroys them?

For all the supposed capabilities of unmanned drones and satellites...they do not loiter over the field forever. UAVs too run out of gas, and satellites only pass there once every few hours (and I wouldnt be surprised if Hezbollah synchronizes their attacks with the satellite passovers)..
I've also seen some of their rocket launchers. Most of them look a lot like fireworks launch rails just a rocket on a stand...so little supervision is needed. They probably also have trucks to do it...camoflauge them when not in use, fire off the rockets, dump the launch equipment and they can then disappear in otherwise normal civilian pickups. Point is unlike the 155mm howitzers the Israelis use Hezbollah's weapons are one shot disposables...so by the time they are fired its virtually pointless to think about destroying the people and launchers. That may also explain the carpet shelling and bombing tactics the Israelis are using...though they should stop sending those shells and bombs into the ciities and more into the roads and terrain where these Hezbollah jerks are really hiding.
As to why the vaunted Patriot missiles arent being used...they were designed for Scuds and aircraft, not the little katyusha rockets.

Hezbollah uses a really crude rocket, almost like a over sized bottle rocket. They are basicly just fired off a back of a truck and can be moved easily. So they are fired from residental area's so thats why Israel has been shelling those kind of areas.
Unlike a missle, its impossible to shoot down a incoming rocket.

They need rockets to continue coming to help
justify destroying Lebanon. They,and we,want
Syria and Iran involved and if the rockets stop
the U S news medial and Israel will have a much harder time explaining continued fighting.
The Patriot system basically knocks our tax dollars out of the sky. Its like the U S border, they see what they want to see.

Maybe the rockets are mounted on trucks so they are very mobile and it is hard to take them out with air strikes therefore you must go in with ground forces. It's a big political risk to go in with ground forces and invade Lebanon and it's also a difficult tactical undertaking. It is still likely that Israel will go ahead and send in more groundtroops into southern Lebanon. It seems like Israel wants to create a buffer zone in the south of Lebanon and whether international peace keeping forces or Israeli occupation troops will maintain that zone will be interesting to see.

You're one of those people that watch CNN right????? lemme tell u something.... American news never ever tells you anything except what you want to hear.... besides the fact that jews a whole bunch of NEWS STATIONS, companies etc. You never anyone here saying anything about how Israelis started the war, how since sharon "basically died" Israelis have been trying to kill the whole muslim population around them.... what they are doing now is genocide, and they don't realize what they are doing is basically like the holocaust, they don't tell you about how they want to call airstrikes on lebanese or palestinian homes because they saw someone from the house throw rocks at thier soldiers.... the world is messed up end of story...

They're probably using radars to track the point of origin, then attacking those points, usually with ranged weapons (aircraft or artillery). It'd be too risky to go in there with troops, there would probably be ambushes and etc.
