well at most daycares the parents sign a contract, and in that case, no they cannot, they must give notice before they change their rates. at a lot of daycares you have to give at least a 2 week notice if you are going to take your child out of the daycare, so they would have to do the same if they were to change their rates, give you a 2 week notice. but if there was no contract involved, then they are free to do whatever they want.

I run a daycare out of my home and whenever I have raised rates I have always given the parents 30 days notice and start it at the beginning of a month although it doesn't have to be that way. When I was working and had my kids in daycare they raised the rates on whim. I feel it is ridiculous what some are charging to keep a child when they get all the kick backs from the state as well. I can charge $9 a day and still come out a little in the black at the end of the month

i dont think they can most daycares i worked with always gave a notice as of this date the rate will increase by what ever the percent is or money value

yes they can...read the fine print on your contract..they can also kick ur child out without any notice..you need to start reading before you sign any papers

No you need at least a weeks notice.
