Actually, since a widower is a man, you would call him Mr.. A woman who has lost a spouse is a widow, and you refer to her as Mrs..

A "widow" is definately a Mrs.
A "widower" is masculine and would always be addressed as Mr.

I always thought the wife was a widow, the husband was a widower. I'm almost positive that that is the way it goes. Like 97%.

a widower is a man,,,so MR....a widow usually still goes by Mrs, unless she has moved on in her life and is dating or whatever

a widower is a man..you'd call him mr ( as in Mr John Smith)
a widow is a woman..you'd call her Mrs( as in Mrs Mary Smith...as opposed to Mrs John Smith when her husband was alive)

A man whose wife has died is a widower refered to as MR.
A woman whose husband has died is a widow refered to as MRS.
The state of having lost one's spouse to death is termed widowhood.
