Yes I do. I believe that many people on the streets are mentally ill and are doing what they can to stay alive. If a dollar from me helps, I can afford it.

Yes especially when i go to San Fran. You never know what circumstances in life bring you to the bottom. Also if your not comfortable giving money to a begger, street performers who play an instrument or perform something i usually offer a couple of bucks vs someone who just sits there. I've bought meals from the closest fast food joint, or a coffee gift card. Any little thing helps.

I might if I had money, but I barely have enough to keep my self and my child going. I do help others though, I give my gently used clothes to the salvation army and I give food away around the holidays. I am also helping a neighbor out (Which people call me dumb) because I haven't got enough to keep my own self up. But I send him gas, food, and store cards once in a while. Not a lot, but I do a little. So I do help out others. And I'm not even working !.

Yes. I always think it would be better to give food or McDonald's certificates (although maybe giving poor people pseudo-food isn't that nice either) but it's hard to plan for. I always figure that while $1 may not mean much to me to someone holding a sign for 8 hours in the pounding sun it means a whole lot more.

When I lived in a large city, El Paso, I did occassionally, but not all the time because there are many of them. Here in a small town, I almost always will when the opportunity arises, which isn't that often. When I was oversees, I did the same as in a large city here, for in Bangladesh and Nigeria, there are just too many of them.

Yes, I give money to beggars or homeless people because it makes me feel good to help them out.

Recently I was coming out of a grocery store...I gave an older woman $5 because she said she needed to buy a gallon of milk for her grandkids and some formula for the grandbaby. Before I got my seatbelt fastened I saw her run into Chuck E. Cheese next door to the grocery store....$5 worth of tokens!

I used to, that was until a man came to me and gave me a story of his bad luck and how he was just trying to get enough money together so him and his daughter (a little one, maybe 3 was with him) could get a place to stay for the night... So I gave him $5 and told him good luck, went on about my way, and maybe 5 minutes later a brand new Cadillac pulls up to him, he pulls a huge wad of cash from his pocket and hands it to the woman in the driver's seat. Then he strapped the little one into her carseat and got in the pass. side and left.

Yes, we (hubby and I) give money, food, and drink to more unfortunate people. Sometimes, we bring them home and let them do work outside the home, such as helping hubby clean up the yard, or helping to clean the outside of our business. After that we give them money, food and drink. It is important to us, to teach our children to value the lives of others and to respect the fact that unfortunate people are human too. We hope to teach them to love others and to treat all people as respectable, dignified human beings.

Yes I do. You never know if that would ever be you out needing money for food or anything else.
