Examples: brownies, cookies, breads, etc. Yes I know the weather is in the 110s, but I read stories that people were sending homemade bake goods to Iraq to the soldiers.

You could buy one of those .. forgot what you call them.. those plastic wrap machines that seal with heat. You know.. they suck the air out and then seal it. They are wondering. It's the same concept as when you buy a bag of chips or something from the store.

I think they are around 80 bucks at Kmart.

EDIT ADDED: one of the answerers above said it.. it's that vacuum thingy.

I work with a guy who was telling me that once a week his mom baked brownies and wrapped them in foil and sealed them in coffee cans and sent them for all of his buds in Vietnam. He said they were still pretty fresh when they got them. Now adays we have mostly the plastic coffee cans but you can still get the metal ones. Or something else along the same lines would work.

Yes you can, if you mail the package to someone you know. Otherwise look online, many orgs will send the package for you and will have guidlines on what you can send. But remember, It could take from a week to a month to get in country.

Don't even try it - the heat is overwhelming. Do you really want them getting sick? Send something prepackaged with preservatives and nothing that melts.

I think that is discouraged. It's too far, takes too long, and would surely spoil by the time it got there.
