This is hard...?

Question

A detective found a dead man sitting at his desk with a gun in his hand & a tape recorder was on his desk.
The detective came in and picked up the tape recorder and pressed the play button.
He heard the dead man say "I am sick of my life. I have no purpose to live," & then heard a gunshot.

How come the detective instantly knew it was murder & wasn't a suicide. Don't think too hard. No he wasn't a psychic. ;)

There's another part. If noone gets that part, then it goes to the closest. Lol robot was funny to me. :)

well a dead man cant rewind the tape.
So it had to de a murder. If it was a suicide the tape would still be recording after the gun went off

If the detective just pushed "play" and nothing else, then someone shot the guy then rewound the tape.

It wouldnt have been rewound, and the dead man wouldnt be sitting up. And as Pally said, the recording wou;ldnt have been over after the gun shot.

The tape wouldn't have been rewound. The killer listened to the imitation of his voice to make sure it was perfect.

hitting play would only work after rewinding..... if the gun shot was on the tape..
