i have this problem as well, it's very difficult, but after much trial and error, i've got a system down:

1) try not to straighten every day. shampooing your hair more then twice per week is bad for it and dries it out, causing more split ends.

2) deep condition when you do wash your hair.

3) if scalp gets greasy between washes, try a) just washing scalp and blow drying it b) run a little baby powder through hair along scalp, it helps to absorb the grease, if you have dark hair they make baby powder in black specifically for this purpose.

3) during the winter season try to give your hair a break and wear it pulled up in a bun with deep leave-in conditioner on it. there are lots of cute styles you can do… I like to wear scarves or headbands.

4) wash your hair at night, tie it back in a wet bun while you sleep, then use a huge oversize round brush to blow dry it first thing in the morning. since you have slept on it a lot of the water has dried out and you only have to blow dry it for a fraction of the time, greatly reducing the heat damage. Also, the huge round brush (get the kind with the hole in the center and some metal around the inside, which help to make the brush hotter) allows you to make your hair completely straight without ever touching it with an iron of any sort.

It takes some practice to get good with the brush, but it is really worth the effort :)

maybe get a shampoo and conditioner that seriously moisterizes your hair? and get it trimmed every few weeks. are you straightening your hair while it's wet or damp? That's the worst thing that you can do for your hair. if you are doing that it would cause split ends quickly. you might try taking a shower at night, towel drying your hair, and letting it dry naturally. i would just try and let your hair dry naturally as often as you can, and keep your hair from getting dry. you might consider finding a new hairstyle that you can do by letting your hair dry naturally. any cute ways you can put it up? you don't want to get your hair into a frying routine and you don't want to have the same style day after day.

Hair grows very slowly so which you purely ought to attend and notice. You look doing each thing suitable different than straightening. you additionally can desire to sleep with a silk pillow instead of a cotton one. you are able to attempt using an previous yet gentle cotton t shirt (on the subject of the comparable softness as, say, a pair of mens boxers) to dry your hair instead of a towel. whilst your hair is approximately 60-70% dry this is recommended to contemplate putting it in an honest bun or braid (whichever you hit upon works maximum suitable), which will preclude the strands from drying as curly as they regularly do. you need to be getting a a million/2 inch trimmed off ever a million.5 to 2 months. Use a straightening gel or lotion this is the two nourishing and helps to straighten your hair with out the help from warmth. you are able to attempt to blow dry your hair immediately on a funky putting. in the main, straightening is undesirable on your hair. in case you need to slender all of it the way down to showering thrice each week, straightening two times and using a dry shampoo in between washes. in case you do no longer want the optimal warmth putting on your straightener, do no longer use it. A extreme bun or a French braid artwork on all hair textures extraordinarily in case you utilize a balm or oil to combat frizz! you do no longer ought to straighten your hair on a daily basis. in case you quite think of you do, evaluate chemical straightening.

leave in conditioners work the best. Also try a product call Moisture Max on the ends when you straighten. It helps with frizz too.

the short answer is "stop straightening your hair"

the long answer is talk IN PERSON to a stylist at a good quality salon in your area and have them educate you on how to do this yourself so that it doesn't damage your hair

Garnia or whatever makes this stuff in a small round green bottle. Works awesome - says it's for long, strong hair.
