It depends on how complex the photo or picture is that you are working on.
trying to describe the process here would take a l ong time and a lot of space.
Your best bet is to look up tutorials on photoshop, or go to Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com to get an "In easy steps" book on photoshop, they are only $10 US.

ok first dublicate the layer, by using entering into the layer menu and choosing "dublicated layer" Then hit ctrl+shift+U I often use speedy mask and it may on the left hand fringe of the demonstrate (it sounds like a sq. with a circle in it) pick that and the paint brush and what's going to take position is that a pink haze will apear over the selected section. counting on the way you want it pick the realm with the paint brush and then go back it to nomal mode and reduce away the selected section. There you've the black and white with coloration image that you want
