Ok here is one way. Dig a hole deep enough for your pot or pan to be completely underground. Line the hole with rocks. Get your pan, pot etc etc. Put the brownie mix inside. You will need a lid or tin foil. Then add rocks on top of it. Build a fire over it. It will simulate like an oven. The rocks help regulate the heat. as well as it being underground. Then when you think its done dig it back up.

Here is another way of the same thing done a different way

I myself use the first way I mentioned. I was taught in in survival training and by a Local Hawaiian when I lived there while I was in the military.

If you have a smaller pan that will fit inside the dutch oven, such as a round cake pan and a rack so that the cake pan is not touching the bottom of the cast iron pan,you could steam the brownies to cook them, just add enough water to to reach halfway up the cake pan and put a lid on it,while the waters boiling, keep an eye on it so that the water doesn't evaporate.I have made steamed pudding on the top of the stove this way and you wouldn,t even know that I did not bake it in the oven, unless I told you.It comes out browned just as if you baked in in the oven.

I've never tried it, but I heard you can do it with eggs, so it's worth a try, I think. Bring the brownie mix already made, in a zip-loc bag in your cooler, or insulated bag. Let the bag of mix get to room temperature, then drop in a pot of boiling water on your stove. I don't know how long it would take so keep an eye on it. They won't be in a brownie shape, but they'll have that great brownie taste! Maybe you should try it at home before the trip...good luck!

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

I think you should bake them at home and bring them along. Trying to bake brownies while camping sounds like a royal pain.

yes use your dutch oven and your basic brownie recipe butter the bottom and sides and use hot coals or wood or whatever your using for heat put them on the lid do not put the bottom of the dutch oven directly on the coals as the bottom of the brownies will burn but suspend the oven several inches above the coals so as to still have heat towards the bottom for even cooking it may take several attempts to get them right but believe that it can be done
