I am a Catholic and I know what my faith teaches. I am not trying to convert anyone I am just curious what others think about this phenomenon as it were?

I think perhaps God left these bodies like this as a message to us.Their lives were examples of following Christ.

It's the church that makes them special, not God. Once someone has passed on, do you really think God will preserve their body for whatever reason? There are actually bible verses that talk against it. Now, to answer this question, it's the special treatment some peoples bodies are given that prevents them from decomposing and such; that's most likly the case here. By the way, "protestent" churches don't have specific saints and such, the majority believe the scriptures in the bible that refer all Christians who proclaim the gospel as saints.

Anything is possible with God. Jesus and Mary ascended bodily to heaven. Same with Elijah, we are told. These women were holy, and compared to heavenly assumption, an incorruptible body seems easy. Nonetheless, we must always be on guard against human tricks and false miracles. The lives the women led are more important than what happened to their bodies afterwards, and so that is where our focus ought to lie.

It is not a phenomenon...Medgar Evers was exhumed and his body looked the same as the day that it was buried...
