It is possibly a combination of several factors. It may be because of wisdom teeth erupting, Temporomandibular Dysfunction (Not TMJ) or plain simple stress. If your joint is not clicking/poping or dislocated, use Tylenol and warm moist cloth on the muscles. See a dentist or an Orthodontist but not chiropractor!!

It could either be from your wisdom teeth coming in or it couldbe TMJ problems. (temporal mandibular joint) do you hear a clicking when you open your jaw? If yes I would suspect TMJ
How long have you had your braces? Do you grind your teeth?
These things could also play a factor-
Talk to your General Dentist or the Orthodontist- if it is TMJ they will probably make you a night gaurd to wear at night that usually helps.

See a massage therapist. It sounds like you have TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint) dysfunction. Most commonly, TMJ is a muscular problem with the muscles of mastication (chewing). Find a licensed massage therapist to evaluate your jaw and determine if you have TMJ.
She/he will massage the jaw muscles and relieve your jaw pain. Should take about 3-5 treatments, but you should notice immediate relief after the first treatment.

Molars will definitely cause your jaw to hurt towards the back. It can also cause you to have an ear ache as well. When you get older, if you have wisdom teeth it hurts like that also when they start to come in.
