Well, I believe in the bible. I have had many life experiences which have led me to God. When you go through things, and you've had so much you just can't take it, then you just get down and start praying, it makes things much better for you, you know? That's what it did for me, anyway. It's weird how fast the effects happen, lol.... I was stuck in a lot, then I told God I was sorry and I love Him, and everything just started changing all of a sudden. In the bible, it says that not a lot of people will believe in Him, they will be brainwashed, and they will think in a worldly way, and just won't be able to get it... the devil creates many distractions from the truth, I don't underestimate the devil's power, but hopefully you'll get past that phase... Good luck on your journey, and whatever you choose that makes you happy...

No, I wouldn't want you to convert to anything. Whatever set of concepts and beliefs sync with what you think will bring you to an experience of god or, same thing, will chip away at your self/ego, that's the one you go for. If it's non-religious concepts, go for it. I like 'A Course in Miracles' because, despite the fact that the vast majority who follow it misinterpret it and misuse it, it's a Zen-like system using Christian language reinterpreted. And it's all about NEVER preaching or trying to convert -- the ONLY person that needs to be worked on is ME -- and by doing that, everything else falls into place. If I work on 'others' then I promote the whole error that separate selves are real. Zen is another thing that I like -- again, only when there's no desire to convert or preach.

Answer basic questions by yourself and you'll find out.
1- Is there a creator ?
2- What would be his caracteristics ?(if yes for 1)
3- Did he communicate with us ?
4- How did he?
5- Is the message he sent preserved ?
6- Are you serious in your request ?
7- Do you want to submit to his authority ?
8- Can you stand for what you found out?

Good Luck.
PS: It may be hard but it's worth it.

I have no religion. I study the word of Jesus from a book called the course in miracles. The message contained in these pages has completely changed my life. It has taken me from believing in a judgmental punishing God to believing in a God that never makes any mistakes, a God that is unconditionally loving. A god who has a plan for the salvation of all of us that is going to work.

It has shown me that everyone is a precious part of what I am. It has allowed me to see everyone that I meet as a beautiful part of God deserving of my love and respect.

If your faith does not allow you to see each and every person you come in contact with as someone that you love with all of you heart then your faith is failing you miserably. This need not be.

Jesus asks that we love our neighbor, he allowed for no exception to this rule. Has your faith made this idea of love that Jesus left for us into a reality for you? If not, then why not. Was this not always the intention of our brother Jesus for us?

If your faith has not done these things for you then I suggest that you get a copy of the course in miracles and study it with me.

If you find the things that I am saying a bit hard to believe I can understand that. I have studied this material for over 7 years. At first glance the concepts it spoke of seemed at the very least, unlikely. They certainly did not match up with the formula consensus reality had given me to work out the problems that I encountered in my life. That really didn't matter to me by that time because the old formulas had not served me that well anyway.

If you are happy with everything about your life this is not a book that you need to be reading. If by chance, there are aspects of your life that seem to trouble you, then this is a book that you should be reading. If a 7 years ago you had told me that one simple book held the key to every single problem that I was faced with in my life, I would have laughed in your face, and thought that you must be a fool to say such a thing. Yet after working with the concepts that this book teaches, I feel more strongly about there ability set things right in my life than ever.

I came into this encounter with this material a jaded skeptic, who believed in nothing. I had tried, and rejected nearly every path, seeing truth in none of them. Yes, each seemed at first to be truth, but the initial lift that they gave proved not to stand the test of time. This material is different, It seeks to correct the errors in thinking that are currently causing the conflicts, and disappointment in our lives before they can happen.

It also shows the folly of approaching the idea of love from the conventionally acceptable way. That is, reserving love only for those we have judged worthy of it. It has taught me that this is not love at all, it is only judgment.

This is not a book that you can sit down and read in a night, or even in a week. The concepts that it teaches are so fundamentally different from the ones that are currently causing all the problems in your life, that it will take some time for you to readjust them. Perhaps years, After all how long has it taken you to get to this point where you truly longed to find a better way. Did you really expect it would happen over night? If this book can help someone as lost as I was, it can most likely help you too. But only if you actually read it!

Love and blessings.

I'm Catholic, and here's what the Catholic Church teaches in a nut shell:

Nicene Creed (Profession of Faith)

We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten not made, one in being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day, he rose again
in fulfillment of the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
with the Father and the son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy, catholic, apostolic church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

You might want to explore Unitarian Universalists. No one should ever try to convert anyone to a religion. The problem with religions is that most are inflexible..dogmas are far worse than ideas! No one ever gets killed because of an idea, but lots of people have died from a belief system.

All religions are the same, it doesn't matter which one you flip to. But the experience of God is absolutely wonderfully awesome and once you taste it, you'll never be the same again. God is not in religion. He is in truth and beauty and love and respect. An example: People look for Christians in churches but a Christian is one who follows Christ's way of life, thought patterns, compassion and conviction...how many of those kind are in churches?

IF you want to accept Jesus as your savior, thats a choice only you can make. No one can convert you to anything. It is the Holy Spirit that moves through you.

The only way to get to heaven is though acceptance of Jesus as your savior. There is no other way to get to heaven and the Kingdom of God.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:16-18

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
only Gen 22:2

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Only the monotheists will try to "convert" you...

The other religions of tolerance and acceptance will take you in IF you express interest.

Some religions out there won't take anyone unless their family is a member of the organization.

Others out there just don't want new people to join them.

Which faith were you wondering about?

Forget religion.

Christ is the path of salvation.
Christ is the truth of God's Word.
Christ is the life eternal.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Christ is the tree of life.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
