I've grown pretty close to my pup, and I guess he thinks of me as his mother. He follows me everywhere(Even the bathroom) and he gets very jealous when I make physical contact with others(Like a hug). But sometimes I wonder if he senses how much I care about him. I think it's pretty obvious that we've growned attached, but could he possibly feel love for one as well?

I think dogs are a lot smarter than some think. And yes they can sense fear, anger, and love.

Animals can sense everything right down to us getting sick and about to die, So yes you guys are very much attached if your dog is following you around the house or where ever you go. They have become very PROTECTIVE OF YOU, And NO one I do mean NO ONE should ever bring any harm to you. What you should do is just talk to your dog alone as you would any human believe it or not they can sense some sort of understanding from us, They also can sense Fear,Hurt. When others come over just put your Dog up or out of the house for a little while until guess leave only if your dog will not act right, Or if others may be in fear of your dog. Especially children. Of course your dog can sense your love for him, and I think he loves you in return. However, I think he is a little possesive of you. Did you say he gets jealous when you make physical contact with others? You pup might actually see you not as a leader, but as a follower. You might want to assert yourself as his leader. after all, lisening to your command will keep him safe. making him sit still in front of you when their is a bird in the middle of the road might save him from running over by a car.

Dogs are loyal and they can feel love and pain. They can also feel happy and sad, depressed and every other emotion that we feel. When you look into a dogs eyes and you don't look at anything else but their eyes they look almost human. Dogs know who they love and who loves them. I also think that they can sense when the people that the love are sick or are in danger. They really are mans best friend and I love my dogs as well. I work at the SPCA and have for many years as a vet tech. Dogs also know when they are going to die. Sometimes when I have to euthanize a really sick dog they just look at me with pitiful eyes and I pray for them because I know that they know they are going to be put to sleep. Keep loving your dog because I see so many dogs that have never been loved and enjoy understanding that your dog loves you too. Good Luck!

I would have to say that they feel love in their own way. They rely on their owner for basic care such as food and water, walking, grooming, bathing, etc. They are not able to provide those things for themselves, so as owners, we do it for them. I feel that they know this. They also enjoy being around us since we are their family.
Just as we get attached to them, they get attached to us. I don't know if they can love in the way that people do, but they have a desire to be with us, please us by obeying our commands, and show us affection. In some cases, dogs have been known to give their lives for their owners. If that is not love, I don't know what is!!
I think that they know which person cares for them, and spends time with them. They know kind people from mean people. So in my humble opinion, I believe that dogs are capable of loving us, and they are aware that we care/love them!
BTW - my puppy follows me everywhere... and wants to be next to me all of the time. I am glad that she is like that!

ya, if you abondon it it feels your mad, or something,it depeends, if you give love it will act/be happy u can tell if it wags its tail.-lol I LOVE DOGS!!!!!
