I recently drank half a glass of rum and one and a half bottles of red wine. I was just wondering what is that equivalent in beers.

The same liquid quantity of beer contains about half the alcohol as the average wine. Wine come in about 9% to 14% alcohol.

Wine could have anywhere from 8% alcohol (German Kabinett Riesling or Italian Moscato) to 20% (Port or Sherry). That would translate to about 4 to 10 bottles of beer per 750ml bottle of wine.

1 12oz beer at 5% alc.= 1 oz of 80 proof rum or 5oz 12% alc. wine

so a regular bottle of wine(25.6oz) is about 5 beers worth

As far as getting tipsy....I think it depends on the person, how much you've had to eat, where your head it at when you begin, etc. As far as nutricious content, I think the rum and wine would be better for you in moderate consumption.

It depends on the size of the bottle of wine. If you mix, you get drunk faster.
